I recently visited the Apple Store at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor and had a very disappointing customer service experience. I was initially helped by a representative named Shar. While I was explaining what I needed, she seemed disengaged and uninterested. Mid conversation, she turned to assist another customer a man despite him acknowledging that she was already helping me. She took his name and continued assisting him while I was left waiting. When she returned to me, she told me without running any diagnostic tests that my laptop’s trade in value was not what I had previously been quoted. I asked if she could run diagnostics to confirm whether my device passed all required tests, but she did not do so. I then requested to speak with a manager, understanding that promotions and trade in values can change daily and simply wanting a second opinion. A manager (a woman with curly hair, whose name I unfortunately did not catch) came over, but again no diagnostic tests were run. She briefly checked something on her phone, answered a few questions, and that was it. The entire interaction felt rushed and dismissive under 10 minutes total and I left feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously. What was especially frustrating is that I was told to go to another location if I wanted a different answer, despite the fact that no actual testing was done on my device at this store. I felt pushed aside and unsupported throughout the process. I also could not help but feel judged based on my appearance. I was dressed casually in sweatpants as many college students are but still presentable. Meanwhile, another customer who appeared more “put together” and potentially more likely to spend money received immediate and attentive service. It gave me the impression that customers may be treated differently based on how they look, rather than based on their needs. I have always had positive experiences with Apple customer service in the past, which made this visit even more disappointing. Unfortunately, due to this experience with the staff at this location, I would not recommend the Apple Store at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor.

I really hate to come to this Apple Store. They have you waiting hours for help. And if you need a repair or replacement they have you waiting hours even days. When you call about your phone they tell you lies. Like we called we texted but they are lying. When you try talking to them they try and talk around you like you dumb. I really hate this place I hate I have to deal with them. It may not be the Store but the people that works there.
