I'd give less stars but because I absolutely love Dr Burgess and have been a client for years I felt unjust doing so. But lets be clear...DR. BURGESS and a few of your vet techs (don't know their names) are the ONLY reason I am staying a client.
I'm sorry but Dulcie comes across as very condescending and rude and not very helpful. I can understand an office being understaffed or whatever but I felt like I was just brushed off and basically told to either go to the emergency clinic in Lewiston or Freeport. I called at 8:40AM hoping to get my cat in either today or tomorrow or possibly early next week and I was basically turned away and flat out could not get an answer when they would be able to see me. She basically told me they only have the day of emergency appointments but I guess today and tomorrow they are too busy and I don't qualify for Monday either because it is not Monday. Tell me that makes a lot of sense?! Mind you I have been a customer for over 30 years and have spent thousands of dollars here. She also was rude and belittling when I asked about early Monday morning her response was "well you cat should be seen today". Almost like she was speculating that I am not a good pet owner. Pretty insulting when I was looking to be seen and they could not fit me in in the foreseeable future. I have read other reviews where other customers brought in pets in dire need of care and they were turned away and the pets ended up dying, like even pets hit by cars??!! just WOW! I don't understand in a case like this when the emergency clinic in Lewiston is only open after hours. What happens if there is an emergency during the day??
I am staying because Dr Burgess is TOP NOTCH vet. But if she leaves and any of my future pets, I am seeking a new vet.
I should also note that Denise and Holly have ALWAYS been wonderful to me as well.

If you are looking for answers for your animals health, best to go somewhere else. Instead of listening to you, they shove vaccines down your throat and tell you they won't examine your animal unless you do X,Y,Z which then costs about $1500 more in the end because you will have to bring your animal to a Urgent Care to get a legit answer. Very rude and could care less staff. Went in to have blood work for our cat, said she was fine and blood work was normal... went to urgent care a few weeks later and her BLOOD WORK was so far from normal. A "normal" range was 0-4 and our cat was at 14... but VCA said it came back all normal and nothing was wrong. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!

I WAS HOPING TO GIVE THEM NO STARS. one start is to much. I DONT DO REVIEW BUT THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW. THIS WAS THE WORST HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. They were so rude.. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY, IM VERY POLITE, POSITIVE ENERGY. try speaking to the lady who was on the front desk and she just gave me complete attitude.. THE WAIT IS INSANE AND THE PRICE🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ IS SO CRAZY NOT EVEN WORTH it. They try and get you to do more then you need.. ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY.. I pay almost$1000 dollars for literally all jokes side not even 5 mins I WILL DEFINITELY SAY THEY ARE ALL ABOUT THE MONEY NOT OUR BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS. To tell me nothing was wrong with her which in fact she was in labor mind you they should have see that in the xray. I don’t like putting anything or anyone down but this place SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.
There isn't enough that I can say about my experience here. In 2014 they took care of my cat, Raven, whom passed suddenly. Now 10 years later taking care of her brother at age 11, making sure he is staying well & cared for. They pulled out all the stops for him and made sure we were both comfortable with the treatments and costs moving forward. I am forever grateful and highly recommend them in either experience. Thank you to the Drs and staff!
