First, I’ll preface this to say that Dom the customer rep is really sweet and the music at the store is a vibe. But, Outside of that I am super frustrated as I switched to Verizon form AT&T during the Black Friday promotions, expecting a smooth transition. Instead, the Verizon store at Watkins Park has been an absolute nightmare.
I am patient and initially gave them grace. However since November, I have made multiple visits (5+) just to get my phone numbers properly ported over. Each visit involved long waits, painfully slow service, and zero accountability. There is never a manager on site, and staff repeatedly say they “can’t do anything” without the “business manager”, Joey whom I’ve called and emailed—yet no one ever seems available to actually resolve issues.
In November, I was promised comparable prices to what I was paying with my old provider by two managers. I got a business account so They also threw in some credits ( btw which never appeared on my $400+ bill).
What should have been a simple port-in turned into weeks of wasted time, repeated explanations, and conflicting information. To make matters worse, my bill ended up being shockingly high ($460), with additional phone numbers charges that were never clearly explained upfront during the Black Friday “deals.”
This location is well-staffed, but completely indifferent to customer experience. Verizon markets itself as a premium service provider, but this store delivers the opposite: confusion, delays, and frustration.
I ultimately am so over Verizon entirely because of this location and my experience. I have been a loyal AT&T customer for 20+ years and wish I stayed….may even switch my Fios service too. Listen! Save yourself the time, stress, and money—unless you are returning equipment or buying accessories—do not do business here. Go to Bowie or some other location.

Working with Toby at this Verizon store was an extremely unpleasant and frustrating experience. What I was not clearly informed of upfront is that this location operates as a third-party retailer, not a corporate Verizon store. As a result, none of the issues, actions, or “efforts” made by this store appear to be visible or acknowledged at the corporate Verizon level, leaving customers with little to no real recourse when problems arise.
The store’s inefficiency and lack of follow-through in handling my account and paperwork directly led to serious negative consequences for me. Due to their poor handling of the transaction and failure to properly process information in a timely and accurate manner, my credit was severely impacted. This was not a minor inconvenience—it created long-term financial repercussions that could have been avoided with basic competence and accountability.
Communication was unclear, expectations were misrepresented, and responsibility was deflected rather than resolved. I left feeling misled, unsupported, and frustrated by a process that should have been straightforward. I strongly caution others to verify whether they are dealing with a corporate Verizon store and to be extremely careful trusting this location with anything that could affect their credit or finances.
