Sooooo this is a long time time coming
Let me address the 'care club scam'
Literally you get the exam when you need to get in there and the vaccines aren't truly always covered especially if it's within the year and used it the previous year... Dogs need vaccines yearly lol so this 50 some dollar a month scam isn't worth it
Then we rescued our baby from Texas and he popped with heart worm we were only given the American heart association plan that's it
They would consider any other plan
Then in treatment he was mean as hell on trazadone and I had to FIGHT BEG CRY for a different medicine!! He was a completely different dog and I was recommended to put on soothing noises and just make sure he doesn't run..... Umm what
Also I will say they were very understanding of my dog not wanting to go back due to heartworm treatment it's BRUTAL
I just think If you're by the book only and want to pay 2827271 to keep your dog healthy this is the place for you.

I cannot recommend this hospital enough specifically for exotic pets. I brought my sweet ferret, Ozzie, here in March ‘25 where she was diagnosed with cancer, after that the team at VCA calvert treated my sweet girl like she was their own. Dr. Capella was so beyond helpful and treated my girl with so much care in her last months. When it was time to say goodbye, I can only describe the experience as beautiful, full of love, and compassion. Dr. Capella made me feel so supported. Both her and the veterinary staff there that day did everything to make us feel comfortable. They even kept paw prints from Ozzie to keep in their office. I will forever be grateful to the VCA calvert team for the kindness they showed me and my girl. I still take my 3 ferrets there now and they all receive the same amazing care.

I’m so glad I found this place. I came to them with a very sick turtle and they offered the best help and resources they could and tried to do everything possible to help him. Unfortunately it was just his time to go but they were very helpful, compassionate, and considerate throughout the whole process. Dr. Capella is a delight and she really helped me feel understood.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at VCA Calvert Veterinary Center in Pasadena, MD.
I was charged for a membership plan that was never properly explained and never signed. The plan was presented as part of a treatment recommendation, not as a recurring subscription. There is no signed contract—not by me and not by the person whose name appears on the paperwork—yet my credit card was charged anyway.
I have repeatedly contacted the clinic requesting clarification and a refund. Their response has been vague and dismissive, stating they are “waiting for guidance from their Legal Department,” with no timeline, no follow-up, and no resolution.
I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and VCA did not respond at all. That alone shows how little they care about addressing customer concerns once they’ve already charged your card.
This experience has made it very clear that this clinic prioritizes charging customers over transparency, accountability, or basic customer service. Management has been unresponsive, and there has been no effort to resolve an issue that should have been straightforward.
I would strongly caution anyone considering services here to read everything carefully, ask for written contracts, and monitor your billing closely. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.
