I previously had a negative experience with Apple Care coverage not covering damage to a product and have declined to purchase it. When I was offered to buy the coverage, I asked very pointed questions to the staff about issues I was foreseeing and was assured that my concerns around coverage and eligibility were not going to be a problem. Then, when I went to put another device under my Apple Care coverage, I found out that my exact concern was manifesting itself, but the representative said "ooh, that can happen, you just need to add this through Apple Support." Obviously, when I went to try to do this, I was unable to add the product and I went in and cancelled my Apple Care subscription because, through multiple experiences with the product, I have no faith that anyone from Apple is an honest and informed broker when it comes to Apple Care and I am paying money for the pleasure of being disappointed down the line as contract language shifts subtly to deny the customer the services they believe they paid for. This has truly been a disappointing experience with Apple and has severely damaged my faith in the brand. Are they really keeping things on their devices or cloud products as secure as they claim, or, like their insurance products, do they have cleverly worded legal documents that provide them wide latitude to (basically) lie to customers. Based on my experience, I would assume their actions are not matching their marketing statements
