The review is not for the staff at the store, they were very helpful and I would give them a 4.5 of 5.
The review is for Verizon itself and how non transparent and dishonest the company is.
I got a new phone which they told me was free. When I think free, I think that it's... free. Here are the ways that it wasn't free:
1 - Cost $70 or so upfront, I knew that in the store, so that's okay I guess as that was disclosed upfront
2 - It is not actually free, it is a credit that is prorated over 36months, so if you want a new phone in that time, you have to pay a prorated amount
3 - It is not even a credit, as they started billing me about $9 per month for 36 months.
So why tell me a phone is free when I have to pay upfront, I have to pay per month, and if I want a new phone I need to pay a remaining prorated balance - that is the opposite of Free, that is by definition, a substantial cost for a phone.
And as I was discussing this in store with an employee who was honest about this practice being dishonest, another employee there says "It's not a contract, it's an agreement."... whatever that's supposed to mean.
I can afford the phone, I just really do not like doing business with people or companies that are dishonest and intentionally muddy in their customer dealings.

Garland and Marquise were so helpful and such gentlemen. They helped me find the right device for my needs and to trouble shoot all of my tech questions as they came up. Can't thank them enough.
