  Not just dogs and cats, many types of "exotics" like rabbits and more. Friendly helpful staff, appointment recommended.

  I have a sick ferret with a large mass on his torso and waited 3 weeks for an appt. Appt day came.. it was our last storm about 2 weeks ago.....it started snowing hard again before we left but we brought him out and drove 5 mph there. ..took 45 mins to get from West Springfield to Hadley......our appt was at 1 so I call at 1:10 to tell them are are pulling in in just 3 mins....while I was distraught about my sick pet out there in this weather driving in snow.......and the woman on the phone says...with a robotic and matter of fact voice....."actually ummm.I dont believe we can see you"....I said I just risked our lives driving here and we are about to pull in....my ferret is hurting..I waited 3 weeks and my ferret needs help. No sorry...no empathy...no compassion....no care. She checks with the so called doctor who said no.....must reschedule. I turned around in their parking lot at 1:14 after she told us too bad...turn around we wont see your ferret. I cried all the way home...another 45 mins in the snow. It was the callous..heartless....cold....nasty attitude that did it for me. I called the Longmeadow location and they were so nice....understanding....they got me in within the week...and snow storm once again on appt day but they understood and were nice about it....got me in the very next morning instead. The doctor...Brian I think?? And all the nurses were amazing. They moved their whole next day around to get emergency surgery done and were thorough and so very very good with our boy and with how they cared for him. We pick him up this evening. It went well. Expensive...but I expected surgery on exotic animal to be up there. They did what they could to not add unnecessary stuff and explained everything with patience. I wanted to experience the Longmeadow location so I could leave honest review for both. I do not recommend the Hadley location but Longmeadow is wonderful.

  I was to bring bring my cat for surgery today at 8:00-8:15. I was having trouble getting her in the carrier. I called VCA to say I'm running late. No one answered the phone., after the 3rd call, I decided to leave a VM. My surprise, that after listening to emergency portion I was asked if I didn't know the party, I was to press #1. My surprise, they have closed for the day due to the weather. Really, no phone call to cancel the surgery. This is unexceptable! I was going to drive to the animal hospital, and no there could make a call to say they closed today. This is just bad service, not sorry to say that I will not be going back there.

  I had a guinea pig that had something wrong with her. She was peeing orange and her belly got round and hard. Being limited on where i can go for guinea pigs, i called for an appointment and was told the next available was a month away. Unfortunately my sweet girl didnt make it to her appointment date. She passed the other day in my arms. I never heard of a place that books so far out for a sick animal. That's ridiculous.
