⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our 5-year-old neutered dog Bell suddenly developed blood in his urine on March 2nd. Around 6 PM we brought him to VCA Animal Hospital, where a quick ultrasound was performed. The veterinarian saw “brightness” on the scan and referred us to a hospital with emergency services and more advanced imaging. At the emergency hospital, Bell underwent further imaging and evaluation. Later we received a phone call saying there was a concern about prostate cancer, and when I asked what the likelihood might be, I was told “around 80%.” Hearing that our young, otherwise healthy dog might have cancer was devastating. Bell had no other symptoms — his appetite, energy, and behavior were completely normal — but for days our family lived with intense fear and anxiety. Instead of immediately proceeding with additional procedures, I decided to wait and complete the course of antibiotics that had been prescribed and continue observing him at home. During that week, the amount of blood in Bell’s urine gradually decreased, and he continued acting like his normal self. After finishing the antibiotics, I brought Bell to Dr. Feldman at VCA Brookline Animal Hospital for evaluation. Within minutes of performing an ultrasound, Dr. Feldman identified the real cause of Bell’s symptoms: a bladder stone. This diagnosis explained everything we had been seeing and was a far more common and treatable condition. After an incredibly stressful week fearing the worst, Dr. Feldman’s calm approach, clear explanation, and accurate diagnosis brought enormous relief to our family. We are extremely grateful for her expertise and highly recommend Dr. Feldman and the VCA Brookline team.

Two appointments in the past month, one for diarrhea and another for bloodwork. Paid over $650. Spent about 5 minutes with the vet max. Found Dr. Groper to be very off putting. Second was just a blood draw and urine test for cushings (different vet). Waited a week for a urinalysis only to be told it didn't show signs of an "infection." We were looking for cortisol levels. I had to chase down the test results which should not be the case. When I asked if we could receive the test results, she said "the doctor has to review them first" which is weird because they texted us with "the results" and now I don't trust the findings. Overall, I don't have a lot of confidence based on these interactions and will be going elsewhere. Also, I didn't appreciate the run around from the front desk. I don't need that in my life, especially when I'm paying someone.

I had one of the worst experiences in Boston. Moving to a new place and bringing a recently adopted pet is already stressful. You hope for professionalism, empathy, and basic human decency. Unfortunately, this clinic offered none of that. The staff was incredibly rude and dismissive. Jennifer Taylor specifically. Looking at this place’s reviews, I see that I’m not the only one adding a bad review about this woman. It’s a trend. It felt like they believe that because they work with animals, empathy isn’t necessary. That mindset is unacceptable in healthcare of any kind. To make things worse, after the appointment ended, I was abruptly told to leave, as if I was an inconvenience rather than a paying client bringing in a beloved pet to a point i had to say to this lady - Do not talk to me like that. No BASIC courtesy. As my first vet experience after moving here, it was supposed to be reassuring and smooth. I sincerely hope no one else has to experience this kind of treatment, especially when they’re just trying to care for their animal. This vet was DISGUSTING. I also asked to speak to the manager, guess who never showed up or called back! Surprise surprise. Go to ‘Small Door Vet’ Or ‘Angell Animal Medical Center’ instead!
