I brought my laptop in for a software issue, but when I went to pick it up the keyboard had been cracked to the point where half the space bar didn't work and neither did the 'm' key. The young man that worked with me agreed that it had not been there when I brought it in and when he worked on it. The backing had also been improperly put back on indicating that someone had opened up the computer housing. When I asked what could be done the manager looked irritated that I wanted them to fix it, even though this clearly happened while it was in their care. They agreed to take another look at it to see what could have happened.
When I went back a few days later they gave me a lackluster explanation about what they think happened. At this point still no one offered me a solution about what they would be able to do to fix it. After doubling down on asking what could be done to fix it, they offered to have it sent off at their expense to have the housing replaced.
I realize that accidents happen and there are a lot of circumstances you cannot control. However, my entire experience at this location was with employees that were apathetic, unapologetic, and overall quite rude. The entire time after bringing the crack in the keyboard to their attention they treated me as if I was a gross inconvenience to them.
Not once did anyone offer an apology for the damage to my laptop while it was in their care. Each employee seemed more interested in directing the blame to one another or even onto me. None of them offered up a solution, but rather I had to push them in order for them to do something about it. I'm sure that they would have been perfectly happy to turn over my laptop to me not being able to use 2 of the keys.
I will not be going back to this best buy location again, nor will I be using geek squad services again.
