Bought Bose Ultra Open Earbuds $200+ from Best Buy on Dec 20, 2025. One bud stopped charging after light use
Best Buy refused the exchange, citing their 15-day standard policy "60 days only for paid Plus/ Total members". The holiday extension to Jan 15, 2026 didn't help since today is Feb 19
Bose has a 90 day return and a 1 manufacturer's warranty, Best Buy could have easily swapped them and claimed the warranty from Bose, keeping a loyal customer. But instead, they force you into a direct manufacturer contact.
Bose is replacing them under their warranty with no problem.
Which begs the question, why shop Best Buy?
Bose.com offers 90-day returns with free
shipping.
Amazon gives 30 days.
Target 30 to 90.
Walmart 30 days.
For $200+ gear with occasional early defects, you'd probably have better odds spending it in a casino.

Poorest quality service. They make the mistake, and pass the blame onto the customer. Corporate office completely agreed. Good Geek squad is Michael at the Vets store. Supervisor could have cared less. Corporate open 24/7, great people.

This Best Buy is a sleeper hit. The prices are better then Amazon for a lot of popular items and the staff actually know what they are talking about.

I went to the Best Buy in Harahan to buy a camera tripod, and Selwin Moore is the reason the trip was worth it.
He came over fast, asked what I was using the tripod for, and helped me pick the right one without trying to upsell me. He broke down what actually matters—stability, height, and how it will work with the way I’m filming—so I wasn’t guessing or wasting money.
He also took extra time to show me how to check pricing and use Best Buy’s price match guarantee so I could make sure I was getting the best deal. That’s rare, and it says a lot about his character.
The only thing he didn’t do was ring me up at checkout—but everything else was handled the right way. If you’re the kind of person who walks into stores and usually gets ignored, ask for Selwin Moore.
