I am writing this review in hopes of preventing others from losing money due to a failed and mishandled delivery experience from Best Buy in Hammond, La. Additionally, Best Buy, has not been very active in providing a resolution.
I purchased a laptop gift from Best Buy to be delivered to my mother’s home. The delivery was handled by Roadie, which operates similarly to services like Shipt or DoorDash and serves as a delivery partner for Best Buy.
Using the Roadie app, I was able to track the driver in real time and noticed that he appeared to be one street over from my mother’s home rather than at the correct address. I attempted to call and text the driver multiple times through the app, but received no response.
The driver marked the order as delivered and uploaded a photo showing the package at an incorrect address. My sister immediately went to that location and politely asked the resident for the package, as it clearly did not belong to them. The man told her to leave and then handed the package to a woman as if it were a gift to her.
Given the driver’s lack of response and the circumstances surrounding the delivery, I strongly suspect possible coordination between the driver and the resident who received the package.
I then contacted Roadie customer service to report the incident. After waiting on hold for approximately 45 minutes, I received no assistance or resolution.
Please use caution when making a purchase at Best Buy and selecting this delivery service in this area. This experience resulted in financial loss, the inability to share a gift with a loved one, and a significant waste of time.
I also reached out to Best Buy for assistance, but the matter has not been resolved as of this writing. It has now been over 72 hours.
UPDATE: Best Buy wrote an email stating that I need to work with local law enforcement regarding this matter.
Best Buy this is some terrible customer service!
