I bought an iPhone 12 pro max in January, and the phone speaker stop working 7 months later in July. Since was is still under warranty, I brought it to the Best Buy Geek Squad's Apple authorized repair service.
When we got there, the technician verified that the speaker was not functioning, but she refused to honor the Apple warranty, implying that the hardware failure was due to the fact that my wife wears makeup (which she doesn't).
When I got home, I called Apple and explained the situation, and they were happy to honor the warranty.
If the Best Buy Geek Squad doesn't want to honor Apple product warranty's, then they shouldn't be operating as an authorized Apple service provider.

Do not take your stuff to the Best Buy Geek Squad. I had a brand new laptop and I took it in to get it checked out because the screeen would randomly start flashing. When I went to pick up my laptop, it had a lot of cosmetic damage. Scratches all over and the bottom was covered in brown gunk. I tried to ask them what happened and why they were returning it to me in the shape it was in, but instead of taking responsibility, they accused me of bringing it in with all the cosmetic damage and that nothing could be done. I should have made it known when I left it in their hands that it didn’t have any cosmetic damage. Don’t expect them to take care of your belongings.
