After my 13 year old dog was in the end stages of his life it was recommended we go here. I was out of town in North Carolina, and my mom FaceTimed me during his care. Dr. Edwards was truly amazing. He was kind and compassionate but was realistic about our options without making me feel any guilt. Dianna was incredibly sweet. They both gave me time to make decisions and let son and I say our goodbyes. We appreciate all you did for our sweet Buddy.

We had such a wonderful experience at VCA Animal Hospital Urgent Care – College Park and I can’t recommend them enough. We brought our husky in for a flesh wound, and from the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely cared for. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the vet tech Courtney, she immediately walked us into a appointment room, got us checked in and offered us drinks & snacks that were available in the waiting area. Dr. Edward’s and Courtney were both incredibly kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Dr. Edwards was especially outstanding, he clearly explained all of our treatment options, answered every single question we had, and made sure we felt included in deciding the best next steps for our dog. It meant so much to be part of the decision making process and to fully understand what was going on. The entire process was very efficient and smooth, we are so relieved that we didn’t have to sit for hours like you often do at emergency vet clinics. Our pup received prompt, attentive care, and we left feeling confident in the treatment plan and are so grateful for their compassion. If you’re ever in need of urgent care for your pet, this is absolutely the place to go. Thank you for taking such great care of our husky!

We made the difficult decision to have our beloved family pet euthanized. They were available when we needed them and they treated Spooky (and us) with tender care.

I went to this place because the other center wait time was too long. After a bad experience, I came here to get my dog some much needed help. The virtual wait time was pretty fast for me. We went in, did the check in (nice young lady), and it wasn’t long before the doctor came in. Excellent timing!! The doctor checked him and gave her diagnoses. She was a very kind doctor. She was good at explaining and looking for thorough details. Her observations were helpful. Afterwards, the nurse on duty follows up with a vital check. My pup has very bad anxiety, on top of being in pain. I forewarned the nurses of this beforehand. When she came to lift him back up onto the table, (under his belly is where his pain was located), he snapped at the nurse (he didn’t bite). Of course, if I told you that his pain was underneath his belly if you try to grab him, this would happen. I could understand why she did not want to try to lift him onto the table again. I think she should have been more cautious and considerate (it is a puppy). She didn’t ask me or my son to lift him, but she came in with a blue tiny mouth muzzle so he wouldn’t bite. This is when she asked us to put it on for her. I told her he doesn’t allow anything to go on him. She began explaining that we need to train him to wear a dog muzzle. He’s never bitten anyone, he’s only 10 months, yes, he doesn’t allow anything to go on him because he has anxiety, I just explained to them that his pain was underneath his belly. Ok, she tried to put a cone around him. My son held him and she tried to put it on my pup but he started boxing the cone. She immediately left, and I said I will do it. It took my son and myself 1 minute to get it on. He was ready for his vital testing. I went and searched for the nurse. I knocked on the staff/employees door and she said ok I’ll be in there. She came back in the room and she said the doctor didn’t want her to proceed with the vitals. We actually left there knowing exactly the same thing we knew at first and that was his pain was excruciating. We were told that the X ray wouldn’t show anything if there was anything torn. This makes me wonder why doctors even deal with X-rays. X-rays to me are just a money pit because nine times out of ten extra details would have to be shown. I was tee’d but I didn’t respond. I took my pup and left. Unfortunately and Sadly, my experience was not the best. I will not be returning. 01/26/26 Today I had to call back to get an itemize receipt and not just the receipt that showed we paid. To my knowledge an itemized receipt is always emailed for customers and to clarify what was done. I guess since we just paid for showing up and the doctor overlooking him and making an educated guess just by his outward appearance…..that was sufficient for the staff.
