My husband and I brought our sick kitten to VCA Pet Clinic on Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, she was too far gone and ended up passing there. Dr. Marshall and the staff were very kind and compassionate and gave us all the time we needed with her after she passed. We would take our animals there again if needed!

We drove nearly an hour to what is supposed to be an emergency vet, only to spend seven hours there, including two hours sitting in the waiting room before our dogs were even taken back. Dr. Marshall was dismissive, cold, and outright rude. Any time we asked for help or clarification, we were met with “I can’t tell you what to do,” and she raised her voice when we asked questions again—questions asked because we were scared, confused, and trying to advocate for our dogs. She didn’t even have the decency to come back and explain our dogs’ diagnoses herself. Instead, she sent in a veterinary technician to deliver the news and go over billing, which speaks volumes about her lack of professionalism and empathy. The only positive part of this visit was our VT, Miranda, who was compassionate, patient, and the sole reason this experience wasn’t completely unbearable. To make matters worse, we were told we could apply a 50% discount per dog, only to find out later it was applied to just one. We were also quoted a $200 initial exam fee, then told over the phone it was actually $150 when we questioned the charge. The inconsistency and lack of transparency are unacceptable. This was a waste of time, money, and emotional energy during an already stressful emergency. We will never return and will absolutely never recommend this place to anyone.

I took my dog Maggie in on Thanksgiving evening, after she jumped off the sofa and her back end just collapsed on the floor. We thought maybe her back legs had been asleep, but she then went outside with my other dog. When she came back in she just stood in front of me wobbling and I was afraid she might fall over and drooling terribly. She would not come when called she just stood in the same place as if she couldn’t move. I knew something was wrong with her so we took her to VCA. Dr. Katlyn Marshall decided to do blood work, since X-rays “only show bone issues” and she appeared to walk fine and it wouldn’t show muscle issues. While we waited for the blood results my dog laid in the floor and peed and never moved a muscle or attempted to get up. The Vet returned and told us that my dog had a critically low platelet count (of 5000) and needed to stay overnight for IV steroids because her level was so low that any injury could cause her to bleed to death. I did not really want to leave my dog (scared and alone), but agreed because I thought I was doing what was best for my dog. They messaged me prior to my pickup time wanting me to pay the balance of my bill before my pickup and I said I had a few questions for the Vet which were answered through text message stating they didn’t know why my dog had been peeing herself. I had called and left a message with my regular Vet about Maggie and they called me before we got home with Maggie on 11/28/25, and said to bring her in at 9:30am, they reran her blood work and her platelet count was 247000 which is normal and I was told by my vet NOT to give her the meds they sent me home with because it was not needed. My Vet said it was not clinically possible for her platelet count to rebound that quickly from the one IV treatment. I did call VCA because my bill was $1478.00 for incorrect blood work and unnecessary treatments (IV and meds) that I had to pay for. All they did was to argue that how do we know your Vet’s blood work was not wrong. I contacted them on 11/28 and said I expected them to check into this and get back with me and they did not. Yesterday my dog was back to normal running jumping and a happy dog and this clearly would not be possible it their diagnosis by VCA had been correct. Therefore, this should be all the proof needed to show they totally misdiagnosed and treated my dog and they appear to care more about the money than the pets they treat!!!!!

We pulled up to VCA All Pet Emergency Center on Friday night at 6pm the day after Thanksgiving with our 8 month old puppy Ember. She was in bad shape and our family was in deep despair not knowing if our puppy would survive the night. Sara, Lauren S. and the VCA Manager all jumped right in and helped our puppy and saved her life. They made my kids and I have hope and assured us each step of the way. I am so grateful for each of them and we are happy to report that Ember is doing much better. Thank you to the staff and doctors for the amazing support, encouragement and love during that trying time in our life. Peace and blessing to you all. Kind regards and the utmost respect for what you do each day. - From Our family to yours
