So disappointed by my experience today. I have been coming here for a long time, and I called as a very concerned dog mom. While I was asking questions, the receptionist, Olivia, was extremely rude and unprofessional. She cut me off several times and then, mid-sentence, abruptly said, “I’m transferring you to a doctor.” My dog has not been feeling well for the past week, and this is how you treat a worried pet parent? It’s unacceptable. No one should be spoken to that way, especially in any setting involving care or compassion. I truly expected better.

Extremely Disappointed – Careless, Overpriced, and Unethical I asked for a specific service and was denied, even though I’m a paying CareClub member. Dr. Monica prescribed medication that made my dog worse, not better. When I requested a more appropriate antibiotic—one that was originally prescribed but never used—they refused to help unless I paid to see another specialist. Why? More money. This place is not about care—it’s about profit. They push overpriced meds, deny reasonable requests, and hide behind policies instead of practicing compassion or common sense. I no longer trust them with my dog’s health or my money. The CareClub is a joke, and if my dog suffers because of their negligence, I will take legal action. Pet owners deserve better. Stay away.

Took this screenshot yesterday, called in to make sure i could get a month of free flea and tick prevention(if theyre doing that i see it as a good deed would bring my business here). However once you get in they say the medication also has heartworm prevention in it so you’ll need a $110 test per dog to get the free “flea & tick” which is really flea tick & heartworm. Kinda a waste of my time sadly as the chewables are $35 each.

Beware of all the costs you will incur before going here. Our puppy just had a physical exam completed September 10, needed additional vaccines and we were told we can just bring him back for the vaccine. They failed to mention that they would require another physical ($72) When I brought this up to the office manager she told me it’s required for a doctor to sign off for a vaccine. I had mentioned to her that they left out that pertinent information regarding cost that if we had known ahead of time would have aided us in making a better decision and having the vaccine performed same day 9/10. In 20 days not much changes and I don’t want to hear that they need a complete new thorough physical : humans see doctors once a year for a annual and come back at times just for vaccines AND if today’s physical was so throughly completed then why was my dogs weight not checked or temperature , 2 basic important parts of ANY physical especially before a vaccine. We’ve came to VCA with many of our pets but today was our last visit solely based on principle. It’s unfortunate because the front staff, techs and doctors are all so nice.

Receptionist couldn’t answer any questions about prices without having to go find out about how much a vet exam visit is just for an examination or an inoculation because everyone’s different and I didn’t feel comfortable with someone who had seemingly no knowledge of working in a doctors office! Then when I found out the prices there about twice what they are at other veterinary hospitals in the Schaumburg area! I’ll pay the prices at Gulf Rose any day.
