- JRjust ramsSep 26, 20251.0A HORRIBLE experience with Geek Squad buyer's protection service contract. My XL screened TV broke, I called in to nearest Best Buy - my call was sent over seas - VERY difficult to understand rep. They set up appointment to repair my tv in~ 10 days. 10 MINUTES before they were to arrive, they sent a text to cancel, and tell me to re-schedule! I go to re-schedule, but can't. I call in (same aweful automatic overseas transfer) - told they only had ONE service provider in my area, and he was not taking jobs. (I live in a rural area 20 MINUTES NORTH OF A BEST BUY STORE). I was told Best Buy would TRY to find another provider, but no guarantees when it would be. I should keep calling in to see if a re-schedule might one day be possible at some point. Meanwhile, I cannot get a refund on my contract: They took my money for a service contract, provide no service, and keep my money I might use to hire someone who could actually come and fix my tv! I am FUMING angry. Buyer's Protection? NEVER NEVER NEVER again! Update: after numerous attempts to schedule a repair unsuccessfully, speaking with countless reps overseas with dialects defying comprehension, the Best Buy in Bloomington, Il stepped up and more than made good on my service contract, facilitated by their geek squad. I will never purchase another Best Buy service contract. But I’ll continue to shop at Best Buy in Bloomington, Il.

Worst communication and customer service of my life. After spending 8 hours on the phone with Geek Squad and Apple this week because we had no communication on the phones status and it was gonna for well over the 3 days that Dalton told us it would be, we had to threaten calling the police and filing a report for a stolen phone before we got a tracking number that it was sent to California. They offered no loaner and no details. We were going to buy a burner phone when we found out the phone was magically back in Peoria and ready. We’ll insist Verizon send us a new phone before ever doing that again. The Geek Squad was rude, condescending and refused to give us any update. Poorly played Best Buy. You lost a customer for life! Hopefully more people follow me
