I needed an appointment ASAP so I drove out 35 minutes because they had the earliest appointment I could get. The employee had NO desire to help anyone. I dropped my computer and it’s working but some things are not working properly. He tell me it’s $85 to send it in and then more to fix it once diagnosed. I explained that I purchased a new laptop but want to keep both. I asked him how to transfer the data over and he said “you want me to do that?” I said no, I just asking how I would do that and he told me to Google it. Wow. Like I said, not desire to help. I walked away as he was not worth my time and clearly neither is GeekSquad. I’ve used them before and the last couple times they are horrible. Start coaching people. I love how you offer this as a service when we are buying items but when you need them they don’t provide service.

My stepfather brought his laptop in for repair. He was told the hard drive had crashed and that nothing could be done to recover it. The staff then convinced him to purchase a brand-new HP laptop for $1,400.
As an IT professional, I wasn’t initially involved—my stepfather didn’t want to bother me and trusted the Geek Squad's advice. But something didn’t sit right with me. I powered on the supposedly "broken" laptop and quickly discovered the issue: a corrupted explorer.exe file. It took me less than four minutes to fix.
So, either they took advantage of an elderly man, or they employ people who have no idea what they're doing. Either way, it's unacceptable. I strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere, even if it costs a little more. Honest service is worth it.
