Customer service ON THE PHONE, is nonexistent! Unless you feel comfortable speaking with someone in a different country. I’m not that impressed with the in-store product knowledge either. You may want to choose a different electronics store for that purchase. Or speak with the GEEKS, they’re helpful.

Outstanding service from start to finish. The entire team at the Geek Squad on Butterfield Rd in Downers Grove operates at a high professional standard. Every staff member From Nancy, Rodolfo ,Andre’s The whole team was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in solving the issue—not just rushing through a ticket. The manager clearly sets the tone here: organized, customer-first, and accountable. Communication was clear, timelines were honored, and the execution was flawless. This is how technical support should be run. Huge thanks to the whole crew—this location is doing it right. Glad to be a customer here!

Today, while shopping at the Best Buy location in Lombard, Illinois, I experienced what I firmly believe was racial profiling and discriminatory treatment by the store manager, Kamal (also referred to as Kamil).
I was calmly asking for assistance when the manager approached me in an aggressive and unprofessional manner. Without cause, he asked me to leave the store. His tone, body language, and the way he physically invaded my personal space felt threatening and deeply inappropriate. I was not being disruptive, nor had I done anything that warranted this response.
The sales associate Edgar, who had been assisting me, appeared visibly confused, as did several other customers. In fact, multiple customers attempted to intervene and speak up on my behalf because they were equally shocked by the manager’s behavior. Their reactions made it very clear that what occurred was not normal, acceptable, or justified.
I left the store feeling violated, humiliated, and deeply disappointed. It is upsetting to still encounter this type of blatant racism and disrespect in 2025 while simply trying to shop and receive basic customer service.
No one should be treated this way. I expect accountability, a thorough review of this incident, and appropriate action to ensure that no other customer experiences what I did today.

Best Buy sells you the geek squad protection and tells you your devices are protected but in reality it’s just a discounted service. I’ve had this for years now never made a claim or anything like that. It cost $189 a year. Today I called because my TV’s back light went out. Just the diagnostic for my TV (even though I told him it’s the backlight and the TV is barely 2 years old) was $129 but for me $103. Labor $80 and he didn’t provide the parts. The TV was 449.99. Honestly it’s not worth getting the geek squad thing don’t pay to get scammed.
