Had a horrible time at Best Buy over multiple visits for an iPhone. Had my ear speaker go out and this Best Buy was labeled as a certified Apple Repair store. I brought my iPhone in and they took it for the day as they repaired. Mind you, my phone worked completely fine prior to the visit other than the speaker not working. I get a call and I am told that the phone is no longer receiving a network connection and now deemed defective according to Apple’s standards and I will now have to get a new phone. I found that to be very odd as the phone worked completely fine a few hours prior. I then googled what could cause damage such as this and one of the top pieces of information day “damage due to technician error”. I then ask what my options are and they said they would provide me a “brand new” iPhone of the same model. I was very frustrated but accepted that outcome. I then asked for some sort of compensation for the failed repair service and after speaking to a very unprofessional Geek Squad employee I then spoke to a manager who told me “the service has been completed and therefore you are not eligible for any money back”. I then responded with “your service that was “completed” killed my phone. I then return to get my “brand new” phone to then see the Geek Squad member pull it out of what looked to be a refurbished blank non Apple box. I questioned that but the member assured me it was brand new. I waited nearly 3 hours for the process to complete to get my “brand new” phone set up. Now just over a month after using this phone, I have been experiencing a horrible cellular network connection in places I experienced a good connection prior. I have done multiple tests to see the connection and multiple times I have received a result of 20%+ packet loss. Packet loss can be a result of a faulty phone and based on the fact that my previous phone which was the same model as this one had no problems being used at where I work leads me to believe that I was provided a refurbished and likely defective phone. Best Buy will no longer be an option for any technology purposes in the future.
