Normally Verizon stores are a horrendous experience that will make you never want to use a phone again. This dignified establishment will give you the opposite experience. Since that was so hassle free, I’m going to start an argument with my ex girlfriend just to feel a little trauma today.

This is why Verizon lost my business.
I went in the Saturday after Christmas to get cell service for smartwatches that I bought for my grandkids for Christmas. They asked me who my present carrier was (it was visible, a Verizon company) and how much I was paying a month. I told them and after a few minutes they said I could get the same rate with them plus a discount on the smartwatches with them so I switched. Sounded like a good deal so I took it. It took a while, but my phone was switched and the watches were set up. The people in the store were great. At the end they mentioned that the first bill would be a little higher, which I expected.
I was paying $45/month for my previous service. That plus $15 for each of the watches would be $75. I figured another $15 for taxes and the monthly should be under $100. So I was expecting the first bill to be over $100. When I got the bill it was over $200!
I looked at the bill and found that they charged $40 per line activation. So right away the bill was $120 just for the "privilege" of doing business with them. I was then charged $17.99 in taxes and surcharges per $15 watch line. Yes you read that right. Blew my mind that taxes and surcharges would be higher than the actual monthly charge. And this was not for all lines or both watch lines. This was just for 1 watch line. The other line had ANOTHER $17.99 in taxes and surcharges. So just under $36 for something that cost $30. The only thing that I can think that would account for that is that the $40 activation fee was included in the taxes and surcharges. But then, that can't be it either because of that taxes and surcharges for the phone line.
At the store I was quoted $45/month. When the bill came it said $75 per month minus a $10 monthly credit for 3 years and a $5 credit for having my own phone. That's $60 per month. Now, if I have 2 lines at $30/month and I am charged $36 in taxes and surcharges, you'd think if I had another charge for $60 (2x30) the taxes would be $72 (2x36). Nope. The taxes and surcharges on the phone came to $7.52.
I looked and the estimated bill for the next month was still over $100 since they amount I am being billed for the phone is not what I was told I would be billed for in the store.
Long story short, I switched to xfinity. I got a year of cell service for free for a year and each watch line cost $10. So I went from over $110 / month to $26-$27 per month. Xfinity has an activation fee of $25 per line so the first bill would be a little over $100. The same as Verizon's regular bill.
UPDATE: A month after the switch I logged into my bank account and found a pending charge from Verizon. It appears that I am STILL being billed from Verizon even though they are no longer providing service. I tried logging in to my Verizon account and couldn't since my line was discontinued. How can I still be charged on a line that is discontinued? The only way I can think of is if the charges were pro-rated for a partial month of service. The phone line looked like that was the case. But I was charged the full amount for the smartwatch lines and with the additional charges and taxes the total came to an almost 50% increase in the quoted price. According to my account, my estimated upcoming bill for the next month is just under $44 on a discontinued account. I tried clicking on the 'chat with us' button and nothing happened. So I tried the 'schedule a call' button. My cursor spun like it was busy loading. And spun. And spun. I let it spin for about 5 minutes before finally giving up.
The Verizon rep who initially responded said that he "hoped we can win back your trust and confidence." Well, being charged for service that was discontinued is definitely NOT the way to win a customer back! I will NEVER go back to Verizon, or Visible since they are owned by Verizon.
He also said "We should always be completely transparent". Yes, you should be completely honest and transparent. Too bad you didn't even try.

I went into this location today, and was never greeted. I waited and watched reps sit idle with no customers for approximately 15 min. yet refusing to assist me. Upon waiting a white couple entered the store and they immediately greeted and proceeded to assist them.
As I’m getting up to leave, one of them asked if I had been waited on. I was totally insulted. This truly felt very racial motivated. Not tolerated, so I made a conscious decision to leave. No matter the race, it is customers that keep your business open. Everyone should be treated fairly.
