The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 state that lightning protection systems must be regularly tested in accordance with BS6651:1999 or IEC 62305:2011. To reap the most benefit from your lightning protection investment and to ensure they system is installed property and fit fur purpose, ISEN 62305 ‘Protection Against Lightning’ states that Lightning Protection Systems should be visually inspected, tested and maintained on a regular basis. The process of an inspection involves our highly trained engineers checking that the lightning protection installations are in a sound electrical and mechanical state, highlighting any defects they come across and noting any new items of plant or metal work which will require incorporation into the system. We then deliver a comprehensive inspection report which will outline all readings and any defects such as storm damage to roof tapes & fixings. We will also make sure all cross bonds to metal work and plant are secure and that there is an acceptable level of continuity throughout all mechanical joints and bonds. We thoroughly check the down conductors of each system for continuity throughout the entire length. We test each earth electrode and note the results. Upon completion of the inspection, we shall provide a full detailed report and certificate to suit the system installation standard & condition.

Guard Rails As experienced contrators, we are able to provide a comprehensive range of guard rails – free standing, front fix, top fix and collapsible. These are modular systems, so can be fitted to any roof shape. All of our guard rails are fully compliant with IS 6399, EN 13374 and EN12122-3 Ladders We supply and install access ladders with options available for both internal and external use. In addition, we can also provide vertical fall arrest cable and Glideloc systems resulting in improved safety and a greater reduction in fall risk. Walkways Direct Strike Ltd can supply and fit a range of walkway systems, with options to suit all types of roofing applications including standing seam, composite panels singe ply membrane and felt.
