The sauna was designed for four people for maximum comfort during shared sessions. Private bookings can accommodate up to six guests, making it ideal for small groups of friends or family.
What is the minimum age to use the sauna ?
Guests must be 16 years of age or older to use the sauna facilities. This helps us maintain a safe and relaxing environment for everyone visiting the sauna.
What kind of sauna is it ?
It is an electrical sauna built using authentic Scandinavian sauna design principles. Guests can pour water over the sauna stones to increase humidity and create a deeper steam sauna experience.
What temperature is the sauna ?
The sauna is usually heated to around 85 degrees Celsius for the ideal balance of comfort and intense heat. The temperature may rise or drop slightly depending on how much water is poured over the stones.
Does the shower have hot water ?
Yes, the shower has plenty of hot water available for guests before or after their session. It is especially popular with visitors travelling through Galway in campervans along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Can we use essential oils ?
Yes, guests can add a few drops of essential oils into the bucket of water before pouring it over the stones. Essential oils should never be placed directly onto the sauna stones themselves.
Are you near a beach or a pier ?
Yes, Reale Burren Sauna is close to several popular swimming and coastal spots, including Traught Beach, Flaggy Shore, Kinvara Pier, and Parkmore Pier. Many guests combine sea swimming with their sauna and plunge pool session.
Can we rent towels ?
Yes, towels are available to rent for €5 each during your visit.
Can campervans park overnight ?
No, unfortunately, overnight campervan parking is not available because we do not have enough space on-site. We do have parking available during your sauna visit, and many travelling guests stop in while exploring Kinvara and the Wild Atlantic Way.
