BROKE MY DEVICE AND WANT ME TO PAY FOR IT!!?? Worst service experience of my entire life. Geek squad refused to professionally diagnose and take in my hard drive for repair. Instead, they looked at it and told me the hard drive was fine and just the adapter was broken. I asked to buy one off of them, he claimed they don't sell power adapters. He told me incorrect information on how to "fix" my hard drive at home by using "any 12V power adapter". This information was WRONG. I followed his exact instructions and his advice fried my drive!
I took it back to them and he said "ooo...now it's destroyed. You'll have to pay for data recovery."
They quoted me $100-800 and then they call me back weeks later to tell me it will cost nearly $2,000!
Trusting this horrible company was the worst decision of my life. If I took my drive to ANY other competitor, I would still have my data and it would have only cost for a diagnosis and a new adapter. Geek Squad refuses to take any responsibility for the damage that THEIR employees cause.
I will never again set foot inside a Best Buy store in my life.
