Paid a lot to try and save my 3month old pup only for them to run a test and nothing more. Idk if they just want to drain people for money or if they really care about animals. My baby girl died today and the money I paid went to waste because nothing they did helped save her😭 this is my first and last ever going to a VCA clinic.

I think they just want money rather than to offer true vet care. My poor Lulu has had chronic diarrhea for almost a year and both VCA kapolei and VCA family emergency have done next to nothing about it other than change her diet and run tests that cost $3000 or more that have had zero results. They also don’t really seem to care when I express issues to them like recently when my dog had a reaction (possibly allergic) to a topical medication. I explained there was an open wound and all her hair fell off of that area on her neck and was given “as long as she’s not going into shock I’m sure she’s fine but I don’t have any experience with this. This would be a first.” And to top it off I was also given “we’re booked until Tuesday, but doc will call you.” No urgency, no knowledgeable answers, nothing. I will happily switch both my fur babies to Waipahu waikele vet hospital from now on. I’ll never enter another VCA again because of my experience on this island. Can’t wait to leave Oahu.

A heartfelt thank you to all the crew on Wednesday mornings. They always helped me and knew who Dax was as soon as we walked in for his librela shot every month. Truly and honestly gave him and us at least two more years of him being with us. Very caring even when it was time for us to let him go. We got 14y and 7m with our forever puppy dog.

Terrible. Do not prioritize the health and wellness of animals as much as they prioritize their bottom line. Very very disappointed.

Take cats at your own risk. Went in for a health cert and rabies vaccine. Got neither and a very traumatized cat instead. I volunteered with vet clinics and can tell when a vet or vet tech doesn’t like cats. I understand the danger, but would gladly have held her so she wouldn’t have been so upset. We had our sweet baby aggressively covered with a dirty towel (there was another animals fur all over it) and slammed to the metal table just to take vitals. Zero greeting to her (have you ever met a cat?), loud booming conversation instead of gentle, soft voices upon entering the room. Vet chuckled when the vet tech asked if she got anything she needed (vitals) which I’m sure she didn’t because our cat was terrified. The vet did not even look at her without the towel completely covering her, prescribed her meds, which they promptly had to end because they MADE her sick, and bam, $260. The vet was in there for a total of about a minute. Then told us we’d have to come back (and pay that again and more likely) two more times if we wanted to take our cat with us to move out of state.
We reached out to another vet (not at this clinic) to check her out, especially after the meds made her so sick and had an amazing and kind experience with them.
