  I’m giving 5 Stars because Lala is above and beyond, I’ve been a loyal customer for about 6 years. I had doubts when first coming in because calling customer service did nothing to help me with my situation. My daughter had broken her phone and I was looking to get a new phone, Lala had explained to me great deals, her communication was great and her smile was bright. Even though the store was a bit packed she assured I had everything I needed.

  I'm giving 2 stars, and the second star is ONLY because of the kindness of LaLa, the employee who made an honest mistake and went above and beyond to fix it—out of her own pocket. I visited the Cricket Wireless store in Kona to close a line and open a new one. Unfortunately, there was clear miscommunication about the phone plan I wanted, which led to me being placed on the wrong plan AND charged an extra $100 for the phone I purchased. I noticed the issue after reviewing my receipt when I got home and contacted Cricket customer service, who confirmed the mistake , but they told me to contact the store directly. When I called the store, the manager listened to my concerns but said I'd need to come back in person to see what could be done. Despite living 1.5 hours away, I made the drive back. After discussing it, we figured out where the miscommunication happened with the line activation and phone purchase. The store manager made several calls to higher-ups, but every single person said there was nothing they could do to fix the overcharge. One even said that if it had been under $50, they could have corrected it, but since it was $100, their hands were tied. The only “solution” offered was to return the phone for a refund and reorder it at the correct price—but the phone wasn’t in stock, so I would have been left without a phone for several days. After multiple calls to higher-ups, the message was the same: “We can’t help you.” What happened next is why I’m even giving this store 2 stars. After I left (frustrated), the store manager called me to let me know that LaLa, the rep who initially helped me, felt terrible about the miscommunication. She decided to credit my account the $100 out of her own pocket. That level of accountability and care is extremely rare, and I am truly grateful to her. She deserves ALL the good karma for stepping up in a situation that a billion-dollar company should have resolved. This should have been a teachable moment for an employee—not something she should feel obligated to pay for personally. Cricket Wireless as a company failed to take responsibility, and that’s disappointing. $100 might be a lot to an individual, but it’s pocket change to a cellular corporation. They should treat both their employees and customers better. LaLa, thank you for your kindness. I sincerely hope you find an employer that appreciates your integrity and willingness to go the extra mile.
