  I had an awful experience with CeX. I took my MacBook in for testing and they refused to accept it because apparently the “i” key didn’t work. My boyfriend fixed it immediately, so we took it back for another test, only for them to come up with a completely different excuse this time. When we got the MacBook back, we realised there was suddenly a password on it that neither of us had set. Staff were extremely unhelpful when we asked about it and acted like they didn’t know anything. To make things worse, the MacBook was completely dead because they had left it without charge, and when we asked to check it they said they “couldn’t do anything” because they didn’t have a charger… in a tech shop. After charging it ourselves and going back again, it turned out there was never even a password put on it in the first place. The whole situation was confusing, stressful, and handled terribly. The staff were rude, degrading, uninviting, and made us feel like we were wasting their time instead of helping customers properly. Really disappointing experience.

  Drop my son off to pick up our repaired ps5 From Horsham CeX and the person who served him didn’t even look up and said we don’t have a ps5. He came back to the car I went in and said someone was just rued to my son and they said sorry and we had just opened and sometimes staff can be a bit snippy and then gave me our Ps5. No need to be rude because my son is 15, happy with the repair that’s why I give 2 stars.

  I sold my PlayStation Portal to CeX. The item was accepted by staff and officially booked in, and I have the receipt confirming CeX has taken possession of my goods. Despite this, no funds have been transferred to my bank account. When I returned to the store I was assured the payment would be received the same day. That was yesterday and as of today I have still received nothing. CeX currently has my property but I have not been paid. That is completely unacceptable and, in simple terms, represents a failure to honour the transaction and may amount to a breach of contract. Payment should be made immediately once goods are accepted and documented — there is no reasonable justification for holding the goods while withholding payment. I am now putting CeX on notice that if the funds are not received promptly, I will escalate this as a formal dispute through CeX customer services and Head Office and will consider issuing a Letter Before Action, followed by a claim through the Small Claims Court, to recover the money owed, along with any associated costs where applicable. I would also strongly advise others to be cautious when selling items to CeX — do not assume payment will be immediate, even after the goods have been accepted and booked in. Make sure you keep all receipts and proof of the transaction. CeX should resolve this without further delay.
