My experience with CeX has been extremely frustrating.
I took a console in and was initially told there were marks on it. Fortunately, I had another spare console, so I tried a different store. After waiting around, they didn’t even test it and then told me it needed wiping, something that wasn’t mentioned beforehand.
I then went back and forth between stores, including East Grinstead, where I was told there was a warranty sticker missing. It later turned out there wasn’t. Throughout the process I felt like I was being messed around, with different staff giving different reasons and changing their assessment.
I also visited Tunbridge Wells, where I felt they took liberties with the pricing offered. The whole experience felt inconsistent and unnecessarily difficult.
CeX never used to be this bad. Based on my recent experiences with the East Grinstead, Crawley and Tunbridge Wells stores, customer service has gone downhill significantly. I was left feeling that faults were being exaggerated to reduce the value offered, and the lack of consistency between stores was very disappointing.
I won’t be using them again.

Poor service, took in a Nintendo switch to be sold, the box was in mint condition and later I returned after their checks they said the box is damaged when this wasn’t the case, they tried to rip me off by saying the box is damaged so lesser price, I took my item and left the shop, it’s best left in the house unused or give it to charity, I won’t recommend this shop awful service
Brought a samsung s22 from here, had serious issues with Wi-Fi connection using mobile data. After some investigation and taking the phone to a phone repair shop... It turns out the phone wasn't running on UK frequencies hence the problem with mobile data connection... This wasn't checked when they done there test etc in store... However, today being Sunday 3rd may, I returned the phone, asked full refund. Was told the refund would take up to 5 working day's... This meant leaving me without a phone..after explaining I couldn't be without a phone due to my sons illnesses etc. The 2 females working today came up with a solution.. Refund me there and then with a voucher to the value that I had paid for the phone.. With this I was able to purchase a new phone there and then that was compatible with the UK frequencies. They happily set the phone up for me, made sure everything was working before leaving the store. Today's customer service was 5*. Just a shame the samsung I originally brought wasn't checked properly. Hence the 3* for this store.

Good place to find decent bargains on tech, DVDs and Blu rays. The staff are friendly and usually happy to help if you’re looking for something specific. Trade in prices might not always be the highest, but they’re reasonable, and using the store voucher option can make it worth it for the extra value. Definitely worth a browse.
