Booked in Jan for a 2 week sit over Jun/Jul ‘26.
1st began to have niggles when he cancelled several times just coming to get the door code, check which plants to water, bedroom he was using etc but he told me his dad had passed away, a van had been off the road & he was training new staff.
2 days before leaving he msg to say his brother had been in an accident & was now dying of cancer so he needed to go to Man to be with him & had someone else to cover the 1st 4 days & we met a lady who was to cover
Imagine the surprise seeing a strange man wandering around my garden. Matt then sent me his boarding pass from Rome accidentally. But told me it was meant for his partner to show her what they were missing
He didn’t pop up once on the cam during the 3 hottest days to water the plants-a job he’d agreed to do-so I arranged for a friend to come in. She ended up clearing away the dog muck despite my specific request that it be done each time as one of them eats it
On landing back in the UK the stranger appeared on cam again & this time his partner answered to say his appendix had burst the previous day & he was waiting for surgery
Arrived home to wet towels on the bathroom floor, an unmade bed, a bag of rubbish on the veg rack attracting flies, broken conservatory lights, recycling box on the table, bin in the st where presumably it had been for 12 days, the normal bin overflowing, the dog waste not where I had asked for it to be put. My phone charger missing. My usually noisy dogs not making a sound when someone knocked loudly at the door, many plants dead or dying & when confronted regarding Rome, with evidence he still denied it & claimed he was visiting his dying brother
He didn’t see fit to tell me that his replacement had pulled out at the last minute & that he was basically asking anyone to cover, of which I have proof & then cancelling at least 1, claiming my son was doing it, he didn’t seem to understand why I was upset that someone I knew nothing about & hadn’t met or seen interact with my dogs was in my home without my knowledge, telling me he’s an employee.
The only positive is that he bought cool mats as I wasn’t able to send any & seeing how upset & serious was about the whole thing he cancelled the final bill.
He says he bought extra food for my dogs when they had enough as we know exactly what they eat & when. My elderly dog has joint chews & out of a new tub only 4 days had gone, my youngest, anxious dog has anxiety chews & the same thing, only 4 days had gone
Bins were piled in front of the gate so that my dogs couldn’t see out of it, presumably because their barking got on his nerves
I have also since learnt, thanks to neighbours & their cams, that dogs weren’t just left the hours agreed, (around 8-12) but again from around 4-10, when he basically let them out for a wee & then went to bed. So they had company for approximately 4 hours a day
These are 2 dogs that have never known anything but someone at home, 1 of whom has been diagnosed with separation anxiety, plus an elderly dog with the beginning of dog dementia & whom I had told him I was extremely worried about leaving as she has had a couple of TIA’s. He assured me there was nothing to worry about as his partner & housemates look after his own when he is on a sit. I even asked does he leave them in the evening to go home to eat, to be told no, not at all.
He told me on 2 occasions he was setting up their paddling pool, it hadn’t moved from where I put it before leaving
Whilst I would always expect the dogs to be the 1st priority, I also expect that my home be treated with respect & that I am not taken for a fool & told lie after lie, which are easily disproven when people post on social media.
I have many, many screenshots of our conversations, his denial of being in Rome with evidence that he was, evidence of him asking people to cover his/my sit, how my home was left etc should anyone want further evidence or information.

We couldn’t recommend The Dog Club Leamington more highly. The whole team is incredibly professional, flexible when our plans change, and so caring and nurturing with all the dogs.
Matt does a fantastic job running the business. He’s always quick to respond to any changes, keeps us updated throughout the day, and gives us complete peace of mind while we’re at work.
Our special spaniel, Billy, is blind, and the team has gone above and beyond to get to know him, learn his individual commands, and carefully match him with the right social groups so he’s stimulated without ever feeling overwhelmed. They also make sure he gets plenty of extra cuddles!
We are so grateful for the love and care they show Billy every day. They genuinely treat him like one of their own, and it’s such a comfort knowing he’s happy, well exercised, mentally stimulated, and in such safe hands while we’re working.
A huge thank you to Matt, Kitty, Lisa, and the entire team. We honestly couldn’t ask for better care for Billy.

We absolutely love sending Milo to The Dog Club! We’ve noticed such a positive difference in his behaviour since he started, and it’s been amazing to see how much he’s improved.
One of the main reasons we chose The Dog Club was because Matt reassured us that he would work on important things like Milo’s recall. It’s clear that all the training and consistency have really paid off. Milo’s recall has improved so much, and we’re so impressed with the progress he’s made.
It’s such a comfort knowing Milo is in such great hands, and we know he’s having the best time while learning at the same time. We couldn’t recommend Matt and The Dog Club more highly to anyone looking for a caring, knowledgeable, and reliable dog walker.
Matt and the team and are absolutely fantastic with Kipper! He loves going and I know he is in safe hands with them. He is treated like one of their own, and very well looked after. The regular little updates we receive on every walk or dog sit just lets us know how well cared for he is. Communication is fantastic and Matt is so accommodating and flexible to our constantly changing needs for walks! Kipper is living his best life when out with his doggy pals, so thank you Matt and the team, you are all superstars!
