  I built a new PC, I realised the old one I'd built in 2014 ... no wonder it wouldn't update to Win 11, so after reading up on everything I needed to know i bought my components, all new except the video card, where the recommendation was for an 2nd hand card, so I went to CEX and bought one. It worked for about 5 minutes, before it went haywire, fans running at 100% and no output. Took it back to CEX and the retested it and once they were happy it was not working i got a refund there and then. The only reason they lost a star is because the retest had to wait in a queue to be done. I get it needed to be done, but it feels like it should have been done as a priority. I guess they've already committed to other customers a time that their item testing will be done, so they can't give priority to something else but still, it felt annoying having to wait to get a refund for something I knew was broken. Anyway, I'm terms of trying to get a refund they were good as their word. I'll continue to buy 2nd hand goods from CEX but perhaps not PC components as they feel like false economy.

  Lovely staff in here, went in with an enquiry about a new keyboard and even though I wasn't much help (my old keyboard had no brand name), the staff was good about it.

  I would give zero stars if I could. I’ve wasted two days dealing with the staff at the Uxbridge branch, and the experience was a total shambles from start to finish! Complete waste of time. They offered me price for an item, but when I returned to finalize the deal, they suddenly claimed they "didn't have the equipment" to test it—even though they’d inspected it previously. Instead of helping, they tried to significantly lower the price and told me to find another store myself. The staff and manager have zero technical knowledge and even less interest in customer service. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

  I'm a huge fan of CEX and recently bought a new phone online - after transferring everything from my old to new phone, I wanted to trade in my old phone and grab a few accessories. Note, I transferred everything the same day I received the phone from CEX and went in store the next day to trade my old phone in. I've been given my phone back with a broken SIM tray and was told it was broken by me. Now I'm not upset over a £3 broken SIM tray but I am upset at the lack of honesty and integrity. A simple apology and explanation would suffice this repeat customer but now I'm having to post a review online in case anyone else experiences the same issue and doubts themselves.
