If you are looking for transparent and compliant service, I would not recommend this garage.
I had called in to have a specific part of my wiper fluid mechanism fixed, in which, they had supposedly pre-ordered "non-returnable" parts for the entire mechanism before seeing the car. This was not mentioned at any point before the work was carried out, nor was an invoice initially provided, so I was forced into paying for unwanted parts, VAT and labour- costing me roughly £200+ more than what should've been paid, had they requested my consent for this work beforehand. As a university student, I had to make calls for additional loans in order to pay this unexpected amount.
A lot of the initial issue could have been pinned down to simple miscommunication, however, upon contacting them hours after this for a refund, I had emailed them stating the lack of consent I had provided for this work. In which, I was, quite unprofessionally, accused of lying and ironically, told several fictional stories on how I was, in fact, prefaced with a price estimate and had provided consent for the pre-ordering of the unwanted additional parts.
No one was able to provide evidence of my consent or proof of the alleged price estimate provided. Unfortunately, as it was not able to be dealt with amicably, I had to resort to legal action, with Small Claims Courts.
Trust is mandatory for a business of this nature, and involves compliance with legality and transparency with a customer, in which this garage has thus far lacked. I should not be more aware of my rights as a customer than a business.
If you are to ever seek work from this garage, ensure you receive an invoice and that they request evidence of your consent before having work carried out. This is standard and necessary practice for reputable garages and should most certainly be a requirement for garages who do not, in fact, trust their customers.
