  This place was an awful to have a night there. During the booking says is “private bathroom “ but is wasn’t. When we are open the door of the room and the smell of dirty sheets was so strong and unbelievable. We find that the sheets are even yellow/ the normal colour sheets should be white/ , we found a lots of spots around us well. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND- DO NOT BOOK THERE . Trust me I haven’t been to the place like this ever in my life. Trust me I travel a lot. We meet the another lady staying in next room and she says the place is awful as well she sleeps on the top of the plastic sheets and she says “ I can’t wait to leave this place “. We literally went in to the room for only 10 minutes and we decided to book another place, last word I’ll say is this is not a place to spend even 10 minutes in!! We are completely disappointed!!!

  The shower was filthy. The water did not drain out, had mold in the shower. Ask the Host two fix the issue when I called on the Thursday nobody came until Tuesday. I had to stay in a hotel for a night cause I couldn’t take it anymore. The pictures that they advertise are false and it’s a shared accommodation you hear everything with your neighbors is seven rooms in that house people slam doors. It’s very noisy. I hardly got rest. My daughter was scared to Stay at this accommodation. That she end up staying in her dorm room as I travel to Portsmouth to get her settled in university for the first time!

  Stayed at Cleveland Road. Room - as expected for a last minute booking, although £85 per night for this felt pretty steep for what you get which is a very small room with a broken blind, no heating facilities and sub-par cleanliness. Bathroom - frankly disgusting. The shower did not drain, was full of hair and debris which was brought up into the shower. Showers had to be very quick to avoid flooding the room and drying off with the same single towel provided was not ideal after 3 nights of use. Service - whatsapp number provided, no response. Wouldn't bother. Pray that you have no issues because a number of other reviews said the same of no responses or AI responses. Location & safety - location was expected, it's a less-than-ideal part of Portsmouth. I knew the area before I booked but certainly would not like it if it was unexpected. Booking says close to the beach, it is not. Safety wise - the door code system is flawed. Front door open and unlocked upon return a number of times. I also would be aware that the code they send you may be incorrect as I left the house to find two guests standing at the front door staring at an incorrect code on a text message from the providers. One typo could stop you from accessing your room, and with seemingly no one on the other end of the phone, this is a major issue. If you can get this room in advance for less than £60 per night and simply need somewhere to crash for a night or two - go for it. Any longer than that and I wouldn't bother.

  Absolute rubbish!!!! Waited outside for ages due to wrong code, communication was rubbish! The first room none of the electrics worked, no light, no power point etc so they gave us another room, not much better just the light worked, had to go to the kitchen and use microwave power point as that was the only power point working in the whole house! Had to wait in the kitchen until the phone charged as house full of strangers. The blinds didnt work either, we had 2 nights stay booked, we left after the first night, possibly one of the worst places ive stayed at and ive stayed at dozens!!

  I don’t usually leave reviews however need to warn everyone to stay away from this company, genuinely the worst experience of my life. We booked a 1 night stay at Francis Avenue last minute and arrived around 2130, when I arrived I’d actually been given the wrong door code so rang them and was told I can’t stay there as the room hadn’t been cleaned. I was then told I could stay at another one of their properties but it was a 15 minute walk away, so went there. When I arrived at this property I entered the front door and went up to my room to find there was already somebody in there which is unsettling for both them and myself. I called the property again and was actually told to go and ask the person who they were which is a completely ridiculous request for anyone, let alone for a young female. I then had to wait outside in the dark for around 20 minutes whilst they found another property we could stay at. I was sent details for the third property which was another 25 minute walk away. When I arrived there it was almost midnight, the door code was also incorrect and had to contact them again to get the correct one. Once inside I can only describe the property as what looked like a crack den honestly. If I had any other alternative there is no way I would’ve even contemplated staying there. There was no towels despite receiving instructions on what to do with them upon check out and also no hot water to top it off. Stains all over the bedding, pillows and carpet, it was also incredibly noisy there. I had such an awful night sleep there as I just felt so unsafe. I have since contacted the property for a full refund with zero response, yet they have the audacity to have sent me 3 text messages since asking me to leave a good review. They are also not responding to booking.com, avoid this company at all costs!!!!
