Avoid Called on Wednesday about a missing key for a mortise lock and was advised I had two options, replace the whole mechanism (£25) or bring the lock and they would make a replacement key on the spot (£15). Chose a replacement key and went to the shop the same day to get it, only to be told they didn't offer the service. When I told them I had come in to replace the key on the advice they'd just given me, they agreed to make it after all and went off into the back room. Ten minutes later they returned to say they didn't have the blanks on hand (despite me describing the lock in advance, and this being a perfectly ordinary lock) and would have to order them in. They said they would complete the job on Friday when the blanks came in. Needed the job done by Friday so went with it. Didn't hear from them on Friday so called at 2pm to ask for an update. Called again at 4.20pm to say I was heading in to pick it up please, and they agreed. Arrived at 4.45 to find the shop closed. Can't take the job elsewhere as they have the lock. Hopefully on my third journey there to achieve something they said could be done on the spot, I will be able to get the job done. EDIT to add two stars as the manager was very apologetic after my review and gave me the key plus and extra gratis. However still wouldn't return here as staff communication leaves a lot to be desired.

Shop looks very professional, really well stocked, including the free lemon sherbet sweets which are amazing! Staff really helpful in providing a multi lock mechanism that I needed.

Ben & the team are always so knowledgeable - offering great advice, carrying stock that helps with my business & fair prices. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
