  We stayed at an Airbnb cottage in the village and dined at the Royal Oak both nights of our stay... we booked a table but I firmly believe they would've found a way to accommodate us even if we hadn't. The staff were beyond helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Over the two nights we ate Partridge, Yorkshire Fry up, Fish n Chips, a very meaty burger, fruit crumble and pavlova, washed down with very nice cider... the quality of the food was exceptional, the portion sizes were generous, the value for money was... well, we paid approx £50 per evening, stunning. Also, to say the pub is dog friendly is a massive understatement, our mini sausage dog was treated like a prince, not the floor for him, the staff came out with a cover for a chair so he could sit next to us, then brought him a water bowl. They also seated us to take into consideration of the temprements of our dog and the many other much larger dogs in the pub, some luxuriating in front of the fires. Dogs are definately VERY welcome, equally though they are not forced on or allowed to impede those diners that don't enjoy the company of dogs. A fantastic balancing act. We enjoyed our stay in the village and will definately return to the Royal Oak if we're back in the area... HIGHLY recommended.

  Fantastic food. We were a party of 9 and all of us were really happy with the food. The choice and portions were amazing too.

  Warm friendly staff. Traditional home cooked food large portions good quality . Quiet friendly village pub. Large beer garden to the back contained. Short walk to the field at the back of beer garden basic camping field with EHU ,toilets whilst pub open . Will return

  Fantastic pub with great service and excellent food. The portions were really generous and everything we had was delicious. It was so good that we actually went back for a second night! The pub is also really dog friendly, which was a big bonus for us. John looked after us brilliantly and made us feel really welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and we’ll happily return when we’re next in the area!
