I am aware of the outcome of the internal investigation and the referral to the LADO. While I understand that the LADO decided not to take further action, it is important to note that the LADO does not communicate directly with parents or children. This means my son’s voice — and mine as his parent — was never heard in that process.
What my son shared with me was deeply upsetting, and I stand by the concerns I raised. A conclusion of “no further action” does not mean that harm did not occur, nor that the matter was handled with the empathy and seriousness it deserved.
Although I no longer live in the United Kingdom, if I were still there, I would pursue this further. At this stage, what I can do is raise my voice to protect other children, and to show my own child — who still remembers clearly what happened — that I believe and support him.
I urge families to remain vigilant to any changes in their children’s behaviour, to listen carefully, and to take seriously what their children tell them.
My intention in sharing this review is not to prolong a formal complaint, but to raise awareness. I hope it encourages honest reflection and helps create a culture where every child feels safe, heard, and protected.
