For the past 10 years I've enjoyed training at the gym. However, the last year something was obviously going wrong and I was experiencing repeated injuries, especially to my shoulder. I lost all sense of enjoyment and sadly found myself considering giving up. The last straw was waking one morning with both back and shoulder injuries.
A few years earlier Ian had helped me with sciatica so I decided to approach him again. This was honestly the best decision I've made in ages. Ian did some remedial work with me and my shoulder and back are feeling the best they've been for a long time.
More importantly to me is that I'm loving training again and my motivation is back. It's not just the training, Ian is giving me so much help and support in areas such as nutrition, sleep and menopausal weight gain. I'm learning lots of new things, building strength and loving it.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ian. He really listens to your issues and addresses them safely with exercises and movement that is right for you.

Elite personal training.
I initially met Ian to help me with my persistent knee and shoulder pain. Ian produced an individual plan for me.
Incredibly knowledge and extremely professional approach. An incredible strength and conditioning coach!

I am very highly recommend Coach Ian Willows.
I always looking forward to my sessions. I'm training over year with Ian.
I didn't had any goals or any idea about training. I needed some changes in my life and started with exercises.
Ian supported me from very basic, simple exercises. I felt like I am learning to walk again.
I build my water intake habit and organize my diet in the better way.
I didn't felt how I lost my weight.
My poster improved, I don't feel so tight in my shoulders. I had discomfort with my knee and now I don't have it anymore.
Feeling much more better in my self mentally and physically it helps me with daily activities and responsibilities.
Building habits, exercising, keeping consistence with professional coach helps faster to get very positive results and the most important stays for long time.
Thanks a lot Ian
I can highly recommend Coach Ian Willows, having trained with him for nearly two years. He is the only Coach whom I consider worthy of training with, and his is the only gym that I feel truly comfortable in.
My initial goals with Ian were to regain fitness and lose weight after menopause. After seven months, I had lost five stone and had become the fittest and strongest I had ever been. Since then, I have needed major surgery, and Ian has used his extensive knowledge and experience to rehabilitate me during months of recovery back to full fitness.
What do you get with Ian? In a word, results! You get a professional Coach whose years of experience shine through in the efficient, effective training which he delivers and which he can quickly adapt to work around injuries. Workouts are created for the individual, and if you have a goal in mind, so much the better!
You get full attention focused on you, the Client, for the duration of the session, as training is only ever in small groups, and you will never see Ian checking his phone.
You also get a lovely, friendly, genuine man who really does care about his clients, including reaching out between sessions, if needed, to check how you are.
What do you get with the gym? You get a peaceful, well-equipped studio with enough space for working out. It is very well organised and laid out. It's location ensures privacy from passers-by. There are no mirrors and no loud music to distract you from your workout.
If you are considering joining Coach Ian Willow's gym, why not meet him for an initial chat? I did, and I've never looked back!

Ive never enjoyed sport or fitness but at 51 and menopausal with a dodgy knee, back and hip as well as a condition that gives me chronic fatigue, I finally accepted that none of this is going to get better unless I do something about it.
Ive been having two sessions a week with Ian now for the past month and these training sessions are absolutely not what I expected at all. On the few occasions that I have been to a gym in my life and seen a PT, Ive been given a programme, told how to use the machines and sent on my way to run myself into the ground and suffer through the aches and pains during the following days. My previous poor experience is the opposite of training with Ian. I know Ian is a Strength and Conditioning Coach and NOT a Personal Trainer, however I didn’t appreciate exactly what that difference meant until now. A 1-1 session with Ian involves private use of his studio where he applies personal attention to every aspect of your session. Im rubbish at anything to do with fitness but that doesn’t matter. I don’t need to remember the programme Ian has devised as he talks me through it each time. He pays attention to which exercises are likely to cause pain or discomfort, assesses my range of motion and posture throughout. Ian doesn’t just work around my physical barriers but works with me to address them without causing pain or further discomfort.
Full disclosure; Ian is my partner. You might think that this would mean I get special treatment but this is not the case at all. Ive joined small group training with Ian and another client and he applies his training methods consistently across everyone. In addition, I also get to see the work Ian puts into his clients behind the scenes and its clear this is not his job but his passion . He is incredibly responsive, conscientiously checking in and responding to clients with any queries or issues they may have, spending hours on researching new and improved training methods, constantly working to improve his studio, even going so far as to make birthday cakes for his clients and look after their plants!
So have I got the figure of Elle McPherson after training with Ian for 4 weeks? No I haven’t. But he has made me see that long term consistency reaps greater rewards of improved health and mobility than running myself ragged for a few weeks before returning to my usual former exercise regime of reaching for the remote control because Im too knackered to do anything else.
Im looking forward to seeing where I will be a year from now and Im confident Ian will get me there (and not just because he knows me too well for me to get away with lazy excuses!!)
