  Very disappointing experience at CeX today. I went in to sell my AirPods and they were graded Grade C because of some fine cosmetic lines on the charging case, meaning I was offered less money. Afterwards, I went over to the AirPods they had for sale and noticed two pairs graded as Grade B that had very similar fine lines on the cases. I pointed this out to the staff and both of the items were immediately taken off the shelf. I was told, “You’re right, it shouldn’t be there.” So naturally, I asked a very simple question: why am I being given a Grade C and a lower payout for cosmetic marks when similar-looking items are being sold as Grade B? I also have to mention the reaction from the manager and another member of staff. When I raised the issue, their facial expressions and overall attitude came across as very irritated that I had noticed and questioned the inconsistency. Instead of simply explaining how the grading system was being applied, the situation felt quite uncomfortable. what I witnessed today raises serious questions about how consistently the grading system is actually being applied. If an item is Grade C when you’re buying it from a customer, but a similar item with the same type of cosmetic marks is Grade B when you’re selling it, that doesn’t seem right. The grading system should work both ways and should be applied consistently and transparently. Customers shouldn’t feel like they’re being given a lower grade when selling their items while similar-condition products are being sold at a higher grade. I’ll be checking back because I want to see whether the grading is actually being applied consistently. Very poor experience. CeX really needs to look into this. CUSTOMERS BEWARE !!!!!!

  I went to this store to sell my in “perfect conditions 15” MacBook Air”, attended by a woman with glasses. She told me the price range was between £415 (minimum) and £700 (maximum), and that they would call me with the final offer after checking it. Why would anyone agree to sell at the absolute minimum without expecting a higher offer within that range? I was never called. Instead, they processed the transaction at £415 and closed the sale without my informed consent. When I went back to resolve the misunderstanding, the lady just pointed at the paperwork and refused to help, completely dismissing their misleading communication. A 15" MacBook Air is worth much more, and this feels like a total scam. My advice: If you ever sell anything here, record the conversation on your phone before signing anything you might regret, because verbal promises won't matter once they have your signature. I do not recommend this place at all
