My brother and I sold several pieces of jewelry to Farringdons that belonged to our late Aunt, who was an enthusiastic collector. We worked mainly with Mark, who was fantastic. He was highly professional and deeply knowledgeable, but what meant the most was how much he truly appreciated and respected her possessions. The whole team made the process genuinely fun, transparent, and stress-free. I highly recommend Farringdons, to anyone looking to pass on special, cherished items.
Didn’t feel welcome in store. Very patronising customer service and tone from lady there, apologies not everyone is a world expert. Maybe she was having a bad day, either way would avoid

A Cautionary Experience
As a business owner myself, I do not leave negative reviews lightly. I understand that disputes can arise in any commercial transaction. However, transparency and fairness are fundamental principles in retail particularly when dealing with high-value items.
I purchased an antique ring from Farringdons Jewellery and confirmed the size I required at the point of order. At no stage was it made explicitly clear that supplying the ring in that size would be treated as a “bespoke alteration” and would permanently remove my ability to return the item.
Only after the purchase was I informed that the ring had been “resized” and was therefore ineligible for return under their policy. I did not request a redesign or modification beyond stating the size I wished to receive. If an item cannot be supplied in a requested size without alteration, that fact should be clearly and transparently communicated before payment is taken.
I attempted to resolve the matter in a commercially pragmatic way. Instead of a full refund, I was offered a significantly reduced buy-back amount. A partial payment has been made, but a substantial balance remains outstanding, and the company considers the matter closed. I do not agree with that position and have escalated the issue accordingly.
My concern is not simply financial — it is about clarity and disclosure. Customers making significant purchases should be given unambiguous information about their rights before committing.
If you are considering purchasing from this business, I strongly recommend:
• Obtaining written confirmation regarding sizing and return eligibility
• Clarifying whether any adjustment to size will void return rights
• Ensuring you fully understand their interpretation of “bespoke” prior to payment
Clear communication upfront avoids disputes later. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Unfortunately I now have to proceed at Small Claim Court.
Beautiful selection of antique jewellery and a lovely, knowledgeable team. Choosing an engagement ring is tough! They were really patient with our multiple visits and helped us make the perfect choice. The aftercare was excellent as we resized it a couple of times. Would definitely recommended.
