  I can see why there are other 1 star reviews, ordered and paid for an item that was collection only, took time off work, travelled 20 mile round trip arrived at 9am to find they didn't open until 9.30, the store had bought the item in wrong and wasn't what it was listed as. Just told tats it, sorry we bought it in wrong, manager not really bothered. Many thanks for wasting my time and petrol

  Will never be using the shop again! I get that it's more expensive due to, rent, staff keeping the lights on, supporting a store, knowing things have been tested, warranty ect. So I didn't mind paying the extra £10 for a PS2 controller. But the extra I payed for, wasn't met. I was told in store, the controller works and it had been "fully tested" I asked for the reassurance as I'd travelled for one in good condition. Soon as I got home, X,O triangle was unresponsive. So I decided, to take it back to a local store to save some fuel and time. But they had me waiting "30 minutes" for them to test it so I could get a refund! Once tested, they admitted fault, but didn't default to refund and offered me an exchange "like for like".. the controller they offered me was by far "worse" condition. I raised this and said, this one's mint, I can hardly see the texture on the analogue sticks so how do you work that out 🤣. They said it's on the same grade. I said, does your "B" grading system go from slightly used to smashed against a wall because they are not both "B"s! Because I'm looking at two completely different controllers here that fit "B". So I insisted on a refund. So, selling me a controller as working, when it didn't. Making me wait 30 minutes to check my argument when it took me 30 seconds, if they had done that 30 minute check when they sold it to me I wouldn't be in the store, not one single apology from a single member of staff and last of all, a grading system that is so broad it's anything but "useful". You strive on.. Tested.. Working.. Warranty.. I got 1 of 3. They say people will pay more for an item, when honest, trust and kindness are introduced. Really not the impression I got. Instead I got a headache to return a faulty item "they sold me, as working"! Later ordered one on Ebay from a great seller, saved £12 delivered to my door. And it was "as described" and better condition. Obviously this isn't everyone's experience. But it was certainly mine. So I will not be returning or recommending.

  Some games come without manuals cna frustrating if paying a lot for a game especially if you have travelled to the store.

  Probably the nicest Cex I've been to for retro games. The glass display cabinet in the middle of the shop is great for browsing, and I really appreciate the plastic sleeves over the rarer items. I haven't seen that in any other Cex stores.
