    Plumber drove all of 100 yards from a neighbour who was having work done. Fixed one small leak, was in the house for less than an hour and asked for £125. Because he didn't have any change he accepted £120 but gave no receipt - 'cash in hand' so he wouldn't pay tax. Not good.

    I was charged £110 by text message after 2 quick jobs in the house that took about 20 minutes in total. When I asked the boss for a VAT receipt I was told he would charge it extra. Will never use again!
