- EBE Bretherton-UptonJul 30, 20261.0Genuinely the most shocking customer service experience I have ever had. I brought in a laptop to sell and began by explaining a little about how I’d tried to sell it previously but had issues with my iCloud account. I said I had resolved them and now I “want to get rid of it”. The guy at the desk (who was not wearing a name badge as far as I could see otherwise I would be sharing) never even looked at me while I was talking and snarking asked me “are you aware we close in half an hour?” Having never actually sold a laptop to CeX before I said yes only to be met with a condescending lecture about how it “takes all day to process” before listing off some incredibly basic diagnostic reports. I have no issue with not being able to trade hardware that late in the day, I have an issue with the attitude of this member of staff. A simple “I’m sorry we can’t take hardware this close to closing” would’ve sufficed. I’ve worked in customer service and IT, I know sometimes these processes can take longer than they seem. I do not appreciate having the process explained to me as if I’m an idiot for not knowing this when this person knows nothing about me. I simply had not considered the time that it would take and while I now know that I made a mistake I also know it does NOT take “all day” to run system diagnostics on a MacBook. A guideline for a better time would’ve been helpful but clearly he was too preoccupied with scolding me to actually be of any help. In case management check these I visited at ~5:30pm on 30/07 and I certainly will not be coming back
