  I visited the Baldock Tesco Mobile store yesterday around lunchtime and left feeling incredibly frustrated, not with the service, but with the blatantly poor management and staffing on display. The store was busy, which is to be expected. The issue was that there was only one colleague, Emily, serving a long queue of customers. She was working incredibly hard, doing the job of multiple people, and deserves full credit for her efforts. The real problem was in the back corner of the store, where a colleague named Liv was sitting with who I assume was the manager. We watched as Liv eventually got up and went towards the front, only for another customer to ask her about a code. Her response was, "I'll be back in 5 minutes," before she walked off, leaving us all waiting. This was after a significant wait already. The gentleman who approached her gave up and left about 15 minutes later due to the poor service. It is completely unfair to have one staff member battling a queue while others are not contributing. A complete review of break schedules and work planning is desperately needed in this store. Furthermore, it was impossible to identify who the manager was. Shouldn't a manager be approachable and easily identifiable by a lanyard or uniform, especially during peak hours when their team is under clear pressure? My complaint isn't with Emily, who was a star, but with the management that allowed this situation to happen. I won't be returning to this store, and I would advise others to consider if their time is valued here. Contacted Customer Service on this issue, hopefully it'll be rectified sooner rather than later.

  Tesco Mobile is singularly the most difficult company to deal with. Avoid at all costs. The guys in store are great but that’s where it ends. I’ve been a Tesco mobile customer for years and recommended them to friends and family. My most recent experience has been awful. My Tesco contract came to an end. To save a little money my husband added my number to his account… great, I thought. We are in the middle of planning our wedding and after 8 weeks they still hadn’t transferred my number to the new SIM card. All wedding suppliers were communicating through that number. After 15+ phone calls they admitted they may not be able to fix the problem. No apology at all. We lost our wedding cake supplier and photographer during this process as they hadn’t been able to contact us. It took a further 10+ phone calls to close the account and get our overpayments reimbursed. Still NO APOLOGY. Please use a reputable supplier and avoid. I understand mistakes/malfunctions happen but no apology? Surely the customer service of such a large company knows better

  My husband and myself both had a query with our Tesco mobile phones. We were assisted by Henry who fully sorted our query. Who was very helpful and polite, as all the phone shop staff are.
