I’ve had a lot of massages over the years, in the UK and abroad, from Turkish hammams to Balinese and Thai massages, and I can genuinely say the deep tissue Swedish massage I had with Tracy was one of the best I’ve ever had.
From the start, Tracy was so warm and lovely and really took the time to understand what I needed. I’ve been pretty stressed recently, and she chose lemongrass oils because she felt something uplifting would be good for me. The oils smelled absolutely gorgeous and that little bit of thoughtfulness set the tone for the whole treatment.
The massage itself was incredible. The pressure was absolutely spot on, properly deep where I needed it without ever feeling uncomfortable, and I felt like Tracy really knew what she was doing rather than just following the same routine she would use on everyone.
Something I really appreciated was how peaceful the whole experience was. The salon happened to be very quiet when I was there, which obviously might vary depending on how busy it is, but it made such a difference. Tracy was also completely led by me when it came to conversation. She’s clearly more than happy to have a blether and is so easy to talk to, but once she realised I just wanted to switch off, she let me enjoy the entire massage in silence. No forced small talk, which for me is an absolute dream during a massage! The soft guitar music she had playing was perfect as well.
I also loved how cosy and comfortable she made the whole treatment. There was a heated blanket underneath me which kept me warm the entire time, and she was really thoughtful about keeping me covered as she worked. So, for example, if she was massaging one leg, she would make sure my upper half and the rest of me were covered up and warm. It sounds like a small thing, but it really added to that feeling of being completely comfortable and looked after throughout, rather than lying there getting cold halfway through the treatment.
There were loads of other little touches I noticed too. Even having a mirror on the back of the door so you can sort yourself out afterwards sounds like such a tiny thing, but you’d be surprised how many much bigger spas don’t think of it. It just made the room feel properly set up with the client in mind.
And probably one of the biggest things for me: a one-hour massage actually meant a full hour of treatment. I’ve been to spas where an “hour” appointment ends up being around 45 minutes of hands-on time once getting changed and consultations are taken into account, and you feel like it’s finished before you’ve properly relaxed. Tracy absolutely didn’t scrimp on the treatment time, and I appreciated that so much.
My only regret is that I didn’t add on the additional face/neck/scalp treatment because I genuinely didn’t want the massage to end. I’ll 100% be doing that next time.
Such a relaxing, thoughtful experience and brilliant value for the level of care and attention you get. Tracy is an absolute gem and I’ll definitely be back. ❤️
