I sold several pieces of unwanted jewellery to this business while trying to raise money to support myself through my medical degree.
Unfortunately, I left feeling short-changed and disappointed on every occasion.
One ring that appeared to be selling elsewhere for several hundred pounds was described as "scrap", and I was told that much of it would effectively be discarded. I was therefore offered just £65 for the large, unusual smoky quartz ring that I believed had significantly more value.
I appreciate that dealers need to make a profit and that valuations can vary, but I consistently felt that my items were undervalued. The experience left me feeling that I was not treated fairly as a seller.
On one occasion, after being told the stone had little value, I suggested selling the gold and keeping the stone myself. The response immediately changed from an offer of £65 to being told, "You know what... no, I don't want it." That interaction did little to increase my confidence in the valuation I had been given.
In addition, I found the manner in which I was dealt with to be unhelpful, and I have heard similar comments from other local businesses regarding customer interactions there.
Based on my experience, I would not use this business again.
