Zenith Windows were very professional, from start to finish. The project was for the replacement of uPVC windows, sliding doors and a set of French doors. My initial visit from Jerry was great. He arrived on time, was quick to understand our needs, measure up and take us through suitable options, styles and colour choices. Jerry also showed as a 'demo' unit of exactly what we would receive, which was nice to see and he explained the timescales for surveying, manufacture and installation. All very clear and concise and was more than happy to pay the initial deposit, which was quickly done over the telephone with the office.
Two weeks later, we had a visit from Paul, the surveyor. Paul was extremely knowledgable and experienced. He remeasured everything in detail and explained how each window opener would be presented and prepared a drawing for each window and door to demonstrate the direction of the opening mechanisms and appended the measurements and naming for each room installation. Tree weeks later, we received a call from the office to confirm that everything had been manufactured and was not ready for the install. This was booked for the school holiday period, which made it easier to work around work and the school runs. The install was set to be completed within 4 working days.
Three weeks later, the installers Danny and Clive arrived and were extremely friendly and polite. On arrival, they first walked the house to look at the areas to be installed and quickly began offloading their tools and materials. The first task was to begin to remove the old windows and they laid our the entire staircase, corridors and rooms in the house with dust cloths in order to protect the floors and carpets. The majority of the windows and doors were installed within three days.
On the third day, following the removal of the last set of sliding doors in our extension, two pre-existing issues was discovered. The first was that the line of bricks had become loose on the base and the second, the the lintel was not fully secured to the supporting brickwork, causing the polycarbonate roof to drop 12 inches, when the existing frame was removed. Temporarily secured by propping up some of the spare timber, once reported to the office, Lorna and Matt were very helpful and arranged for their in-house builder to attend site to support the team. The loose bricks were relaid and the install team rectified with the lintel using professional props/acrows, before fitting and securing the new frame for the sliding doors, strengthening the overall structure better than previous.
On the final and fourth day, the final set of sliding doors were installed and the team made sure to check all alignment, closure/opening and locking mechanisms. By late morning, the team then focussed on 'making good', installing trim and silicone internally and rendering the outside around of walls around the window frames. This was quickly and neatly done and by 4:00pm on the final team, the team handed me the keys for the new windows and doors and began cleaning and hoovering around the installation areas. It was sad to actually see the team go as we had built up a bit of a relationship with Danny and Clive, who has been plentifully filled with cups of tea and coffee. It was very hot throughout the week and bottles of water were also well received.
After the team packed up the van, I inspected the works and was really happy with the quality of the products and workmanship of the installation team. It really made a massive improvement on the house. After a quick check-in call from the office to ensure that I was happy, I quickly paid the balance and thanked the Zenith for the overall experience and support in responding to the unexpected issues, which were resolved quickly and at no additional cost to me. Receipt and warranty information were automatically received the next working day.
Overall, I am very happy and would recommend Zenith Windows. I will definitely be back again as repeat customers get an extra discount, which is great !
Thank you, Michael
