  Dropped my car off today for a transmission service. A few hours later, because of the heat, my dashcam came off the sticky pad and was hanging by the wire in the middle of the windscreen. The camera is internet connected, so I could see what was happening. The car was still taken into the garage and then on a test drive with the camera hanging and bouncing around in plain view. No one bothered to pick it up, disconnect it safely, or even call me to let me know. I understand if they didn’t want to touch it, but at least they could have informed me. Halfway through the test drive, it was disconnected. When I collected the car and tried to explain, the person in the office defended the mechanic straight away without really understanding the situation. Accidents happen, but the way it was handled made me question the level of care and trust. People can decide for themselves.

  Called to ask them if they could look at the air con on our Toyota Alphard (Japanese import) and was very swiftly/curtly told they "won't touch" an import. Wouldn't even look at it. Very dismissive and told us "best go to Toyota". Alphard parts aren't that hard to get and it's an air con leak which for all we know could be fixable with sealant. It was less the fact they said no to helping us and more how very suddenly dismissive they were the second they heard "import". Will go elsewhere but disappointed they weren't very helpful.

  Gearchanges had become a bit jerky and clunky on my cherished BMW 335d GT. Had the ZF gearbox service done at Dukes and it feels buttery smooth, to be honest, smoother than when I first bought the car. Dukes are reliable, straight forward and fast. Thank you Anthony and India.

  Called in this morning to book my 30 year old American car in for an A/C service only to be told they would not be able to get get parts for it,no offer to have a look to see if it needed any parts so off I go to SLP at Boreham who done it straight away in an hour no parts needed so needless to say my business will be with them from now on
