Had an hour before my train on morning of Friday 24th and wanted to know about iPhones as I have only had Androids so far and current one is failing. Had an extremely helpful conversation with a polite and friendly assistant called Will who was both very knowledgeable and also patient with all my questions.

I went in today asking for a specific accessory. I was told that the accessory was discontinued and unavailable. I gently questioned this because it seemed very unlikely but was told firmly I was wrong.
I’ve just checked and it’s available on Apple’s website.
I can put up with the know-it-all style of the Apple employees so long as they actually know it all. Otherwise what’s the point replace them with AI chatbots.

Thanks Cassey. I popped in with a problem with one of my online purchases and Cassey helped me efficiently and with a lovely smile.
Great service to get your iPhone fixed and if you don’t want to hand it over to just any company on the high street. Although it might be more expensive than elsewhere, my screen was repaired within an hour. It is recommended to book an appointment. For me it was 10 minutes, all the explained in advance, then an hour later phone ready to be picked up. I thought this will be more hassle, but instead it was a positive experience. Thank you!
The Technical Support is Exceptional at Being Mid 😐
I brought my iPhone 13 Pro Max here with a complete white screen failure. While the store technically followed basic corporate guidelines regarding pricing, the actual "Genius" bar staff underperformed drastically when it came to basic helpfulness and security.
The technician had me turn off Find My iPhone for diagnostics, acknowledged that my touch-screen was still actively responding, and then refused to help me turn my security back on because the phone was "useless" to him. He literally walked away and left an active device completely unsecured.
When I asked for help migrating my data because I was starting a new job, the staff told me it was impossible and to figure it out myself. I eventually had to use an AI assistant to learn about VoiceOver (the built-in accessibility mode) to navigate the white screen and safely transfer my own data. It’s pretty embarrassing that an AI knows Apple's native accessibility features better than the actual retail staff.
I later visited the Apple Store at Central World in Thailand. The contrast was night and day. The Thai staff actually used their tools creatively, connecting my phone to a Mac screen to map the display, troubleshooting, and assisting with data security.
Edinburgh knows how to read a diagnostic script, but if you need actual human problem-solving, empathy, or basic security protocol compliance, they are completely mid. Go in with low expectations.
