  Extremely disappointing experience in store. I normally like cex, but I think after the recent experience I am going have to reconsider if I ever want to sell/buy anything with cex. I dropped off a couple items for sale last Friday (Friday before Easter) - a keyboard and an apple pencil pro. Both at the time were carefully examined by the staff who agreed they would be A grades since they had no signs of use (pencil has been inspected by 3 different people). I was supposed to hear back on the same day. The following Monday, still nothing. I thought maybe a delay due to Easter period, so I waited till Tuesday. Still nothing. I contacted cex via their customer service, as of course there is no way to contact the store directly. After a couple of days (Thursday morning) I received an email from customer services that keyboard was regraded at grade B and pencil failed testing - the store themselves didn't make any attempt to contact me, so if I didn't reach out to customer services, I wouldn't even know! I have gone back to the store to and they advised me that keyboard had to be put down as B as it had tiny marks on the case. I carefully inspected the keyboard before taking it in and it was spotless, but hey, for a sake of a few pounds I decided not to bother arguing and just take the grade B. The pencil part is much funnier though. Apparently during their 'testing', the pencil would not charge if attached to an ipad. I took my ipad with me just in case to check and indeed when connected, it was showing 0% and it did not show as charging. This appeared strange since it all worked fine before, but hey, it doesn't work it doesn't work, so I took it back. I left it connected to the ipad and by the time I got into the car in the parking and tooke the ipad out to do some brief troubleshooting, it was already showing as 27% charged and charging normally as expected. It maybe took 2-3 minutes for me to come back to the car + a few minutes since I connected it in store, so yeah very thorough testing from the team originally if they couldn't leave it attached to an ipad for a few minutes to charge. Having said that, since I was already around the store, I returned with the pencil to show them it's working and get it processed. They said they were happy to take it back again, but the guy after a quick glance said it would be as grade B (same guy as at first point of contant and at first they have examined it for good few minutes before agreeing it was good for grade A and this time, after the pencil has literally sat on their shelf for a week it's suddenly a grade B, nice, especially as I inspected it home and there is literally not a single mark on it). Needless to say, not even fussed about the few pounds difference in price, but more fussed about having to wast time to go back to the store, I just took the pencil away with me. Another gripe is that they have not even bothered to make any contact with me since Friday. If I did not ask customer services, I would have never known about the above. The guy at the store said someone would have definitely tried to call me, surprise surprise no one has. Also, received an email from the customer services indicating, there was no FPS form and therefore they just expected me to come back to the store instead of calling me (when selling originally, as always I was advised that if any issues occur, they would contact me). They of course have my details on file, but didn;t bother to make contact for nearly a week. Nice. Having said that, very poor experience. Again, I like cex and have been quite a happy customer (buying loads over the years including iphones, macbooks, etc), but I think I will refrain from using them in the future, as it's not worth the hassle and time wasted.

  Attempted to sell a ps4 with a tiny crack in the casing and they wouldn't take it but offered me other alternative selling methods. People may complain about the pricing but its only fair they are just slightly over other generic tech swap shops due to them only accepting tech in good condition. Otherwise they always have a great selection of games and consoles of great quality and the staff are very friendly
