  I had a very disappointing experience with this CeX store. I brought in a Google Pixel 8 for testing and handed it over factory reset. After testing, I was offered a price which I declined, so no sale took place and the phone remained my property. When the phone was returned to me, it had a lock code enabled, which was not present when I handed it in. A factory-reset Pixel does not have a lock unless one is created during setup, which would have had to happen while the phone was in the store’s care. What made the situation worse was that the owner/staff flatly denied that anyone in the store could have put a code on the device, despite being unable to explain how the lock appeared. As a result, my phone was returned to me in a worse condition than when I handed it over, and responsibility was repeatedly denied rather than the issue being resolved. I’m now having to escalate this outside the store, which shouldn’t be necessary. Very poor accountability and customer service. I would advise others to be cautious when leaving devices here for testing.
