I got to the Genius Bar at 14.20 for my 14.20 appointment and was met with a blonde girl who checked me in and asked me to sit, a team member came up to her and she “shushed “ him and said “ not now “ which was a bit awkward. I sat and waited by now it was 14.37 - no one said - sorry for the wait and the blonde girl never said “ Steve is just finishing with a client and will be with you shortly “ I’m just surprised that no one said. I watched the blonde girl and was glad I don’t work there .

I had a positive experience at the Exeter Apple Store after experiencing ongoing issues with my iPhone.
The store was busy, but the staff were professional, courteous and attentive throughout. The member of staff who assisted me listened carefully to my concerns, clearly explained the process, and treated me with kindness and respect. They also apologised for the difficulties I had experienced previously, which I appreciated.
My phone's faults were properly documented and observed, and the team arranged for the device to be sent away for repair under warranty. I left feeling that my concerns had been taken seriously and that the issue was being handled appropriately.
One unexpected lesson from this visit was that support doesn't always mean removing every challenge. The store was still busy and noisy, but being listened to and treated with respect changed the entire experience. Like a tree growing in a crowded space, I left feeling that there was room for me to be there.
Thank you to the Exeter team for their professionalism and excellent customer service.

We went into the store at around 12.30pm today with the intention of upgrading both of our phones and to make enquiries about the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and while there enquire about the new iPhones coming out in September (as they always do). I can’t believe how the staff member (Long dark hair, accent) spoke to us. Unfriendly demeanour and approach, abrupt, rude - cutting us off before we even finished our sentences and was quite dismissive. She claimed not to know anything about the new iPhone 18 coming out and seemed aggravated that we had even dared to ask about it as we were deciding on whether to get the 17 pro max now or wait. We were both taken aback by how rude she was. Having previously gone through Apple’s extensive multi-stage interview process myself, I know firsthand the incredibly high standards they expect from their staff regarding proactivity, deep product knowledge, and a genuine passion for helping the public. We were honestly shocked that she was ever hired by Apple, as her behaviour was the exact opposite of this in our opinion. We declined her “help” and eventually walked out quite prepared to spend our money at another store due to this employee's terrible attitude. Someone from Apple needs to visit this store to observe their customer service interactions because for the amount of money people spend in the store you should expect a great experience, if not at least a welcoming and civil customer service interaction where you are not made to feel like a nuisance. We noticed this is echoed in other reviews so we would avoid this store in future and purchase elsewhere. Judging by the general ever-declining customer service standards in this country in our opinion (we travel extensively) it seems it is unlikely to change. The general attitude on the shop floor flows from the top, so the managers probably don't care anyway. That this store scores a 3.7 speaks volumes about there being a big issue yet what action is taken? Retraining needed and perhaps weed out those employees who obviously dislike their job and/or people and can’t be bothered, and completely fail to understand that they are supposed to be representing a major global brand and getting paid to generate revenue for the company, not drive customers away with their rudeness and hostility.

I arrived knowing the spec of the MacBook I wanted. I was greeted in a friendly manner apon entering the store and off we went. At the start of the discussion it was not in stock at £2199. As we looked at the price of a higher spec machine, the price of the orginal spec went up to £2499 and suddenly it was back in stock. This has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth as it was clearly always in stock instore, they simply would not sell it to me until the higher price had been put in place. I now have a much more expensive MacBook and still no power block. The influence of Microsoft is so clear. Let's hope this thing doesn't become redundant in less than 12 months. I used to love Apple, but it feels well past it now. It is all so expensive, no wonder they make sooooo much profite for their share holders. What is the word for this?
