  Having recently sold a house and our buyer using Cleaver Thompson as their conveyancer, l would advise anyone to steer clear of this company for your conveyancing needs as l very nearly remarketed my home due to the VERY laid back service this solicitor delivered. Myself the seller, my solicitor, my selling agent and indeed the buyer himself, were CONSTANTLY having to chase this firm for updates and action. This should have been the absolutely easiest sell/purchase ever. It involved 1 house and no mortgage, yet it took 3 months. 3 months of chasing, begging for Info, and the replies to our solicitor were so slow everytime she reached out!! 4 weeks of radio silence following a same day response from us to enquiries! Our buyer came VERY close to losing our house as l was beyond exasperated with the lack of progress and was on the brink of pulling out, so definitely look elsewhere for your conveyancing solicitor.

  We would strongly advise others to think twice before using this solicitor. What should have been a straightforward estate matter following a bereavement ended up dragging on for nearly two years. Communication was consistently poor—we were often left chasing for updates, with long periods of silence and little transparency about progress. Deadlines were missed, and explanations, when given, were vague and unhelpful. The only time they did email was to send an invoice for payment. To make matters worse, our interactions with the receptionist, Louise, were extremely unpleasant. We found her manner to be consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. However, the lady on the reception desk was very pleasant and helpful, massive thank you to her. We expected a far more professional, compassionate, and efficient service.

  I instructed Andrew Botham in the middle of 2025 and, while my case is still ongoing, I am very happy with the service he has provided so far. Andrew has been professional, responsive, and clear in his advice, which has given me confidence throughout the process. I would also like to acknowledge his secretaries, Louise and Charlotte, who have been consistently professional, supportive, and helpful. Communication has been prompt and courteous, and I’ve felt well supported by the whole team. Based on my experience to date, I would not hesitate to recommend Andrew and his team.

  I was supposed to have a call from Andrew today at 4pm. It's been booked in for over a week and he never called. I took an hour off work today to have the appointment and I just think it's really poor. If that's how he manages his time and devalues mine, I'm not interested in pursuing his services.
